I reviewed this place first back in 2014, returned in 2015 and now again 2017. Great to see standards maintained. Good menu choices, very reasonable wine list. Service was good, actually given it was a busy night it was better than good, and the owner / manager / waiter & barman managed it all with a great sense of humour, some healthy banter and also spoke very good English.No problem recommending this place again, each time we return to St Jean de Losne dinner or lunch is an easy decision.We'll be back.
We hadn't intended to stay overnight in St Jean. However, as it was the May Day bank holiday and all the shops were closed, we were obliged to dine out. La Sauconna proved to be an excellent choice, with good food, attentive and friendly staff, and some impromptu live music. Very highly recommended!
We booked this restaurant based on the other reviews and were so glad we did. Having been in the alps for a week with our family of four it was lovely to get off the beaten track and have a real taste of France. The host and all the other diners were exceptionally friendly and created a fantastic atmosphere. The food was superb and good value given the quality of the dishes we received. If we come back to St Jean de Losne again we will be back to Le Sauconna!
