Smiley reception and promise of fresh seafood turned into sour faces, lack of service and awful frozen food, couldn't eat it. No talk of any discount of course. We saw other tables sending back their plates too.Prime location on the tourist artery quarantees clients to be fooled I suppose.

Came here with friends for dinner during the Easter holiday. Even though the whole town was buzzing and busy, as was the restaurant, the service was impeccable. The owners of the restaurant were there, greeting everyone personally and making it very special. We had a seafood parillada and axoa and both were delicious, the parillada is definitely commendable! Would go back there any time.

My wife and I went to this restaurant with some trepidation after seeing all the negative reviews on TA. Our dinner was very good and there was absolutely no indication that the delicious Merlu (Hake) or Gambas that we ate had been previously frozen. The mussels also tasted fresh. The food was good and the service was friendly and prompt.

Next to Maison Louis XIV. We read the menu options and the staff seemed pleasant. We ordered grilled king prawns and then a seafood platter to share (approx. 40€ for both). The service was pleasant and chatty but it did not make up for the king prawns in a pool of oil showered in garlic and fresh parsley, which I suppose were to cover up for the lack of freshess of the prawns. The seafood platter (monkfish / hake /mussels /squid) was a real disappointment. The only saving grace one delicious baked potato and the fresh mussels. The rest was overcooked, very dry and obviously frozen. And on top of that, more prawns covering up the fish encrusted into the dish. Surely you recommend another starter if you are going to fill a seafood platter with the same thing as the starter!!!20€uros for overbaked frozen rubbish in a fishing village, in a restaurant 20metres from the fishing boats!!!! They should be deeply embarrassed!!Better to have a smaller fresher menu more in accordance with the style of the place.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Amaia, and it was clear that the staff is doing everything in their power to provide good service. We recommend the food, the atmosphere and the great service!

This place doesn't look the greatest from outside, but every time we passed, it was packed. We had dinner there one evening and we were not disappointed. Service very quick, efficient and friendly. Biggest steak of the holiday and because all the tables are so close together, you could see that everyone else was receiving similar portions! Bacause of the close proximity of other diners, it was inevitable that you would get chatting. Tremendous ambience and excellent food. Recommended!!

Good place for lunch with a wide-ranging menu and fast service. Ideally situated for the port and the Maison Louis XIV. Plenty of French people there. Not just the tourists

We were surprised to see so many negative reviews for this restaurant. We visited on a quiet Sunday evening and were impressed with the friendly service. It's a small place with tables quite close together but we felt this added to the atmosphere. To start, I had beignets de calamare which were delicious and a generous portion, Mr T had a plate of lovely garlic shrimps and sardines. For the main I had pork which was thinly sliced and very tender and a generous portion of frites. Mr T had the hake which was OK with a pepper sauce. For its position, right next to the harbour, we felt the price was reasonable.
