We were on a journey back to our gite when we went into St Lo looking for food for us and our two little ones. We liked the look of the menu outside and when we entered found a lovely warm welcome from a waitress who had only a smattering of English but delighted in helping us (aided by our smattering of French). My wife played it safe and had the same as our little ones but I went on the waitresses explanation of a fish pate followed by a fish dish. I was not disappointed. The pate was very enjoyable and everything on my plate for the main course was absolutely gorgeous. My wife looked on a little enviously and enjoyed getting her own back with strawberries in a compote for dessert while I looked on with my coffee. All in all an enjoyable meal, two lovely waitresses and a place I would definitely go back to.

A nice little bistro. Food is basic but very helpful waiter who we managed to converse with even with his lack of English and our lack of French.

Whilst the menu was interesting, riz de veau, gigot d'agneau, cuisse de canard, the food was nothing to write home about, the dishes lacking flavour A pity, as the bistro has potential - nice setting and friendly staff but we would not go again

We visited this restaurant about 10 years ago, when on holiday in France. We sought it out again, when we were in the town. It was not a disappointment, I would definitely recommend it. The restaurant was very busy with regulars and business people. The chef was often out, talking to his clients, it was very friendly and relaxed. Décor interesting. We had the set price lunch, presentation, portions and cooking excellent. Prices reasonable for the quality of food.

We stumbled across the Bistro looking for somewhere to eat in St Lo not really knowing the area. The staff were friendly and helpful even though my French is not great. We had a main meal - pasta and a steak dish with cheese board and dessert. The food was well prepared and enjoyable, we were provided with small sides in between meals which were well received. The two of us run up a bill of 53 euros which we felt represented good value for money - overall a really pleasant night.

On 2 nd June 2015.The blackboard menu was very confusing including the pricing. My wife Margaret ordered the Menu de Jour which was priced at €15 (? ) but we were charged €20 on the bill, was referred to as Souris d' Agneau...this turned out to be as tough as old boots, fit only for the Plubelle. I ordered a Terrine which turned out to be an average Supermarket Terrine, but priced at € 9. 90 . I ordered a Bouef Bourgignon which turned out to be tough beef in a watery soup priced at €15-90........far from being the Classic Dish. The Chocolate Mousse floating in water ! The worst meal in 2 months .Beef in a watery soup priced at € 15.90.....far from that classic dis

The restaurant is in a fairly busy street. The deck is curtained off from the street, which gives a secluded atmosphere. Service was prompt and kind. We had the two-course menu with a selection of entrees in the first course. The fish dish had quite a lot of choice and the lamb was succulent. Overall a nice experience. Thank you monsieur Fouchard.

We have been coming to Normandy and especially around the Saint Lo area for over 10 years. We always try to visit this Bistro and always we are so happy that it still remains one of our favourite places to eat. We called again this week and sitting outside as it was so hot it was great to see that there are small changes to the menu but overall it is still excellent. I had one of the set menus I have always found them excellent there, my French is passable but I am always happily surprised by the Plat du Jour which tends to be quite different to what I think it's going to be ! I had a very interesting Tiramisu , the French version seems to be stewed apricots, cream and biscuit but very tasty. I love this place , inside it has a shabby chic interior with old advertising signs and upstairs old radios, it's been the same since we first visited it and the lady who works there has been there just as long. The staff are friendly and helpful although they do not speak much English. I hope to visit again next time we are in the area
