I booked a table and shuttle bus service using Messenger and La Ferme de la Choumette was quick to reply and confirm my reservation. I had to amend my booking twice, once to change the date and the second the time and again the restaurant was quick to quick to respond and very accommodating. This was our first visit and as it was the end of UK half term hols and change-over day we weren't expecting the restaurant to be busy. This worked well for us because we were seated by the glass windows overlooking the farm animals - dairy cows, lambs and playful goats. We assumed the animals was the meat source, but reading previous reviews the animals milk was used to make the cheese. The menu had a huge selection of food and local cuisine. 3 of us chose from the items cooked on the wood fire and my son had Bomb filet of Dombes, creamy sauce with foie gras, crunchy polenta. My Côte de boeuf Montbéliarde with home-made fries was cooked beautifully, but we would have loved more sauce! If you can fit in a dessert, we recommend Tatin of apples, caramel salted butter and its ice cream of Isigny - yum!We hope you have a positive experience like we did.
