Dined here on a quiet Sunday evening. Service was ok but sadly the food was not. My steak was inedible as it was so fatty and my husbands prawns had not the track removed and undercooked, so much so he did not try to eat them. The saving grace was the cafe gourmand which was lovely but overall a very expensive meal that was not barely edible. Would not recommend this place.
Went with friends who live in the area for lunch. We knew before we went that we were barely going to look at the menu. We were on a Moules Mission. Our friends frequent this establishment from time to time, so we experienced friendly and professional service. Keep in mind that we were there on a rainy day in October and there were no tourists so we did not feel rushed. A big bottle of wine with the Moules....pure perfection. In fact, I am still thinking about them. Great seaside views made our lunch pure heaven.
We dined here on 19 July 2015. Two out of the three meals were of good quality! The salmon which my wife ordered was off! She had eaten about 3/4 mouthfuls and felt sickened! We informed the staff who took the meal back to the kitchen! We were told that the chef had tasted the salmon and that there was nothing wrong with it! We disagreed! ( My wife was physically ill for the following two days- coincidence perhaps?) At time of payment, I was told that I had to pay for this meal in full! I pointed out that the meal was barely eaten as it did not taste right! The total bill was reduced by the cost of a coffee! (The coffee was actually fine!) The serving staff were quite pleasant. The lady at the cash till not so pleasant! I will not be returning to this restaurant and could not recommend it to others!
We were offered a seaview table in the shade of the awning which was ideal given the heatwave. Pleasant, timely service throughout the two hour lunch period. My entree of langoustines and crevettes rose was excellent quality and my partner had the bulots which were also very good. For mains we had lemon sole and monkfish - great quality and quantity and both prepared and presented well. We probably didnt need the vegetables and salad but that's a matter of individual taste. Nevertheless we decided to have desserts and so pleased we did - my cafe liegeoise and T's red berry ices were heavenly. I should mention the wine was good, plenty chilled and the coffees fine too. Enjoyable, good value lunch and what we saw others eating looked good, so we will return!
The 3 of us (which included a 3 yr old) spent a week nearby recently and ended up dining here 3 of our 7 nights. My son saying after the 1st visit "can we go to the red one again" as the restaurant is distinctly red, and "can we go to the pirate one".........the food was fantastic, we ate pizza, steak, duck and spag bol all of which was excellent!The staff were brilliant too, particularly Laurent and Erica, both taking time to chat with us and "have fun" with our son.The cost was not out of the way either.......and with the lovely coastal setting, this is a must for anyone!
Just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Charente. We ate in this restaurant on our last night, the food was nice and the service was ok. On paying we were told that our payment did not go through the first time and they asked us to key in our number again and we stupidly obliged. We returned home to find out we had paid not once but THREE times. So people be on your guard.
Good restaurant with great sea views. Prices are very reasonable w/ kids menu at and Moules frites (mussels) at Adult menu at Moules frites and Encournets were good options. Tried the Choucroute de la mer as well. Overall very good price-quality ratio...with kind staff and great outdoor views
