This was our second visit to Gare, having been there last summer. There is plenty of seating inside and when the weather is good there is also space outside. We were quite late, nearing the end of lunch service, so got a table with no problem. They have quite a small menu and everything sounds great. I had a very tasty omelette that came with fries and a well dressed salad. We shared a dessert of thin, thin pineapple slices with crushed nuts and cream. Lovely. The waitress was really friendly considering our French is quite bad!I'm sure we would go back again if another visit to Salies arises.

It's always good to come across restaurants that try to be a little different with their menus without being ridiculous with the presentations and also happy to present classic meats in a traditional way. I chose roast lamb from the dinner menu and it was nicely cooked in traditional style from meat with flavour, not too young, nor too lean, but just tasty. A glass of local red complemented the dish. Wafer-thin pineapple formed the basis of a first class dessert. Definitely enough flair to prompt a return visit and the service was very pleasant and prompt. In the week before the holiday season got into full swing I didn't have to book but as it is next to the top end of the main Casino Parking area I'd suggest calling in to book should you arrive at peak times.

This restaurant looks very inviting and quite classy. We were the first to arrive for the lunchtime service. The waitress did not speak any English, but we muddled through the menu with our limited French. The daily 3 course special was exceptionally good value at €14. My French is pretty bad, but I thought I could translate ham, egg and chips as being one of the options. I chose that and it was indeed! Very tasty with lots of salad and all drizzled in balsamic vinegar. My husband was very pleased with his 3 course bargain of melon and ham, followed by steak with potato and a kind of cupcake as dessert. I think this is a fairly new restaurant to Salies de Bearn and is a little bit hidden away along from the thermal baths. I hope they are successful as not many people pass by there.

We were late, when normally most of the other restaurants in this little close their kitchen but the lady warmly welcomed us and we had a nice food at a reasonable price. It is a high quality place but not at an astronomical price. Like most of the other places in small villages in the area they only speak French but still they made it a pleasant communication challenge by a nice smile. Very happy and I can recommend it for sure.

A fairly recently opened restaurant, we went for lunch, (14 euros for the menu), the food was very fresh, appetising and obviously locally purchased. The service was very quick. Presentation of the food was original. It all tasted delicious, especially the dessert, a lemon meringue pot. I would really recommend this restaurant. We arrived at 12 but very soon the place was full which is a testimony to their success. Well done to the young chef.

We have eaten here several times, once during the week and once for Sunday lunch. On both occasions we had a first-class meal at a very reasonable price. The service is friendly and helpful and there is lots of free parking nearby.

Good Food, Good service and good value sums up a very good restaurant in a town that has plenty of choice, but few as good as this!
