I had the filet mignon, my colleague, too. With that I ordererd non carbohydrate (evening) sides ... Always making it complicated for the restaurant staff. Also asked for a Loire red wine recoomendation from the headwaiter, as I believe it to be a good habit to drink the loacal wines where you stay. Headwaiter made the best wine reccomendation, one from Chinon ... I remember Chinon from a campground ( unfortuntely also from that weird Frendch habit to put nuclear power plants in their nicest countrysides) I stayed at 30 years ago. The beef turned out splendid and so did the wine. Also the dinner salad and the veggies were all prime and perfect. Very nice and knowledgeable headwaiter who speaks English very well, too.My assessment of the hotel was a five- star, too.
