No room outside so I opted for inside and only had to wait a few minutes for an inside table. Evidently there was a big party so it took a while to get a menu and a very long time to get served - about 30 min. I ordered buffala mozzarella and tomatoes along and calamari. They came out at the same time.The calamari plate was bountiful with rocket, olives, fresh tomatoes, and sun dried tomatoes with a light dressing. Very tasty - and filling; the calamari was battered / fried. I took the mozzarella salad to go and had it the next day on a baguette - it was fantastic.
We were just a bit disappointed with this Italian-style restaurant. It's in an odd location - seemingly in a cul-de-sac with no view of the river. The Antipasto Calabrese and insalata mista starters were ok - but enormous - we simply couldn't finish. The same mistake over quantity was made with the mains (agnoloni ai funghi and agnoloni pomodoro). The piano maltese wine was undrinkable.
We wanted a break from the traditional Alsatian fare and stopped by this restaurant a bit late in the evening without a reservation. The staff was very welcoming and service was friendly and prompt. We had the white pizza appetizer and split the pizza with goat cheese, along with a carafe of wine and a soda, which came to about 25 euros. Filling, satisfying dinner for a great price! The menu had a large variety of pizzas and pasta, a great option is you are looking to take a break from tarte flambée and choucroute.
After having tasted the local traditional fare for a number of says, one feels compelled to go back for a plate of good pasta! This restaurant is located close to the rumbling waters of the moulins. It has good italian plates of pasta and pizza and prices are very reasonable. The hosts are also very nice and willing to please your every request!
After i read the reviews i said to give it a try. it's a small restaurant,family business i gues. The owner are very nice,and kind. The madam help us in mixing the food with the wine,the antipasti and desert. The portion are big, even for my (i like to eat a lot) so be careful if you wont to chose a lot of dishes. The first time we went there we chose (for 4 adults and 1 child) 3 ripe of antipasti, which where delicious,1 main course for each other and a desert. We hardly could eat half of the main course. I recommande this place. Next time in Strasbourg, will go again!
