Indeed a very pleasant restaurant located at the old towns citysquare. The area are buzzing of both locals and tourists. Friendly crew, had a dinner of Lambsticks accompanied by a local red wine ( this is after all in the southern region of Cotés du Rhône,well renowned for it's great wines), and it's a hit!I can definately recomend this place, and by viewing the surrounding tables I would have had the rest of the meny as well (if I had the space & belly...)!!!

The menu had some specialties from the region that I didn't see in other restaurants - I.e, escargot, frogs legs, beef tartare. It was a treat for me to try some non-standard food. Everything was cooked perfectly, and service was friendly and professional. Their selection for the plate of desserts were really good and the portions were huge compared to other restaurants that I'd seen. A little pricey but not too much. It's a nice dinner out.

What was meant to be a pleasant farewell dinner for my French hosts (four friends) during my stay in Valence, turned into an unpleasant, forgettable experience, due entirely to a rude, unprofessional manager.Location is excellent, staff were very good, but the food was bland and something I would not go back for. Staff coped very professionally with a complaint my 87 year-old French host had with very tough cote d'agneau and quickly provided an alternative choice of steak.Unfortunately this was also very tough. I raised the issue with the manager who refused to make any concession to the bill. He ended up shouting at me (I am 77), grabbed the business card he had given me, tore it up and threw it away.He suggested that my 87 year-old friend should get new teeth. Perhaps you should also follow the manager's advice and get new teeth if you dine there.I have dined so pleasurably at many places in France over the years and this experience will eventually fade.

Called here on my own for a meal at lunchtime. Friendly English speaking waiter talked me through the meat-free options and explained the several different beers they had on offer. Food very good and a lovely place to sit and watch teh world go by!

Good food, good service. We had tapas exotique and tapas oceane. Mi-cuit chocolat for desert, very good. 56 euro for two, with drinks.

We were looking for somewhere to have a light supper as we'd enjoyed a Sunday lunch earlier in the day. L'Etage fitted the bill, and we ate two courses again, without ending up feeling stuffed, as it was all very good but not heavy. We both had a summer salad with crevettes (a generous portion), and a dessert each - panna cotta with red fruits and a coupe caramel, plus 50cl of rose. The salads were particularly good, and the desserts delicious. My husband rounded off the meal with a cognac. Total cost 42.50 euros, which was excellent value. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff. Recommended.

The city was having a month long music festival so we ended up here at this Place. There are a few choices of restaurants and we chose this restaurant because it had grilled salmon as a choice on the kid's menu. The Mrs was after a salad and the menu of marinated artichoke pesto pastrami with grilled lamb is what I ordered. They even had a half serving of a caesar salad for my teenager. I noticed that people were waiting and tapping their fingers once the place started peaking with business. We know better than to eat at the typical french hour and were seated and sipping drinks by 6:30. We also know better and replace fries with vegetables. All in all, we had great service, nice cooked food. Be smart and enjoy this place. Concert was fun too.

Fabulous location in Place des Clercs - let's give credit where credit is due - but then, the other half dozen restaurants within a few paces can also share that. Menu: clichéd and touristic but we thought what the heck, everywhere looks good... Food as served: bland in the extreme and cold (see next comment)... Service: very slow (it was not full) somewhat rude (no, not Paris rude, but rude nonetheless). Summary, there are some WONDERFUL restaurants in Valence - I know, we went on to try over a dozen of them - this is not one of them... avoid, really, avoid.
