Sorry but this was the low point of 10 days in the South East of France. On our return journey to Calais, we stayed overnight in Nevers. After booking into our hotel, we looked for a nice restaurant to enjoy an evening meal. We arrived at La Bengy and attempted to access the restaurant. The door was looked and several members of staff, just stared at us through the door and walked away! None of them attempted to help and simply walked away, leaving us standing on the doorstep. We gave in and went back to our car, this was when we realised we were at the wrong door doh! An easy mistake to make as signage was pretty poor but why didn’t the staff help us out and direct us to the correct door? Customer service clearly not a priority pity, as we went to another restaurant a short distance away and their staff and food were fabulous.
