Our last night in France, a Saturday, and in the sleepy little town of Vierzon it seemed best to use the hotel restaurant, tired as we were after a long drive.Out daughter, lucky girl, had the menu enfant, which was probably the best meal any of us had.I ordered salad with nuts, followed by salmon, and then cheese. Sadly I did not know at the time that the only vegetable on offer was lettuce, so I ended up with three bowls of lettuce! The salad was adequate, as was my husbands soup. Neither was skillfully made, not really restaurant standard, but ok. The mains were terrible. My husband's lamb, ordered 'au point' were burnt to a cinder, no sauce, dressing etc, just shoved on a plate with chips and lettuce, as was my salmon. My salmon smelt. It was grey and the interior I think not properly thawed out.My cheese plate, as well as the inevitable large quantity of lettuce had two tiny sliced of cold chalky brie. The bread was ok.I have never written a bad review for Tripadvisor before. If I have had a less than good experience I have preferred to give people the benefit of the doubt, and every one has an off day. However this was so dreadful I felt I had to write. You would be better off at either Macdonalds or a motorway service.
