This restaurant was trying to be top notch and succeeded in part. The restaurant is grand and the tablecloths and cutlery of the highest order. We were assaulted with delicious amuse bouches but the main courses relied more on presentation than taste. We suspect this restaurant is on the up and at the moment provides good value at this level. With time the food ought to move up a notch as well. It has potential.
We were staying in the local area to attend a family wedding. We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of our accommodation. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the portions were generous without being overwhelming and we drank beautiful wine. We ate on the terrace under the giant cedar tree - it was truly lovely and the tables are well spaced so you don't overhear other people's conversations. The staff were polite and helpful and allowed us to try to speak French and when we struggled they helped without making us feel silly! I would definitely recommend.
