what a wonderful Christmas gift to share an excellent lunch with a friend in this restaurant. eating was above the top good, and the service sweet and always so attentive. we were thrilled by the many varied aromas and the wonderful presentation. it would be worthwhile to come their journey from the four cherries of the world to experience the culinary delights. this dreaming is the truffe fair. should be fun!

in the other reviews of this restaurant we went out of the way to try. how rarely happened on tripadvisor, our experience was the opposite of the general consensus. we found the kitchen disappointing, and the personal experience made a bad taste. in our mouth. specialties: a butternut quash soup was inventive, but the grilled bisque was not remarkable. the pork was good, but the fish was undercooked and the sauce for both tasted like flattened carrots, cooked with a few mortars cooked carrots and cauliflower. the dessert du jour, presented with fanfare, was pear slices, ice and chocolate. I could've just robbed myself. the general impression was that the presentation overwhelms taste. our server was nice enough, but there was no warm and cozy feeling, and when we had finished our meal we were totally ignored. we actually waited half an hour after the sinking coffee, watching while taking part in other tables and avoiding our view. Why should it be so difficult to give up and go? I hope that would be our worst restaurant experience in France.

we rented a house in the village and discovered this little restaurant while we went past a day. we have booked online and my wife and three children are there tonight. we were not disappointed. the staff was friendly, the location beautiful and the food...was simply exquisite! my children had the steak hache and my wife and I had both laughed and we were all thrilled. thanks to all the staff of kitchen to house that made our experience so excellent.

The owner opened up especially for a lunch group we attend on occasion and we all enjoyed ourselves greatly. Villeneuve is another cute Minervois village and this is a popular spot amongst friends although this was the first time we had been. On a hot...day, being outside was a bonus, sheltered by large umbrellas. A bonus for those with little or no French is that the owner speaks English. Beyond this, the food is good and a cross between rustic/country and elegant. We also had excellent bottled local wine red and white which kept coming. Parking may be challenging in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant although there are spaces off the narrow street. However, there is a large parking area coming into the village from the direction of Caunes-Minervois and public toilets and the restaurant is barely a five minute walk away. All up, well worth trying!
