Alma Tavern - Réservation de table

Yesterday evening, having had a busy day with no time to eat properly and just an hour before giving a concert (professional violinist), I needed to get some food quickly if possible. The friendly and welcoming Tash, who served me, reckoned that they could serve Fish and Chips within 10-15 minutes. It came in approx 90 seconds and what's more ,it was great! Well-cooked sizeable and golden crunchy chips (not fries) and beautifully tasty batter with the tenderest fish, mushy peas (they serve them straight too) and tartare. We have been meaning to have food here for a while, as we usually go for a drink. It’s typical good pub grub. Plenty of choice on the menu. Lovely cosy atmosphere on a dismal Winter night. Two rounds of drinks, two mains, one side and a dessert for £40. (We took advantage of 25% off on Monday, main menu only). Great to see every table booked, when businesses are doing their best, when costs are increasing. Great to have this as a local, within walking distance pub.

A great value meal at The Alma Tavern last night, with the 25% offer on a Monday evening. We could only eat a main course as the portions were so good, with freshly prepared hot food cooked to perfection. I can definitely recommend the Chip Shop Platter succulent cod with crispy batter, fish cake, scampi, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, tartare sauce and bread butter. Fabulous : Quick and friendly service too. Thank you!

I grew up in a village pub and it warms my heart when I find a proper community pub selling good quality and good value food for everyone. We popped in for a meal on a Tuesday afternoon it was so friendly and such a nice warm atmosphere, They have a lot of good stuff going on in this pub and you could tell that everyone was welcome. this Pub is consistently good! I’ve been here, a few times for family meals with parties larger than 12 people and the food has all been excellent. Friendly and attentive staff great value for money. This place is worth a visit. Tableservice is great, and a variety of food can cater for all tastes. Well done team will be back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Marvellous visit to The Alma Tavern for Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere, lovely hot food and a proper plateful too. Really enjoyed taking my elderly parents here, they were made to feel so welcome by Jon and his staff. Nothing was too much trouble. A truly great community pub! Highly recommended!

Excellent home cooked food and wonderful service we will definitely be coming back to the Alma tavern again for a meal. Best meal out I have had and staff are extremely friendly and excellent value for money.

Great home cooked food, great beer and a friendly service. I went to the Alma Tavern during a busy evening. My food was piping hot and delicious. But what really stood out for me was the friendly staff. Réservez une table maintenant

Fantastic pub with great food and friendly staff. My favourite is the pork belly, whitebait and pigs in blankets bar tapas. Highly recommended.
