Just 10 minutes of cycling down from Col de Tourmalet, in driving rain & sleet and with windchill below zero, had left 3 of us hypothermic and shaking with cold. But our host just grabbed us, stuck us in front of the open fire and poured coffee down us until finally we were well enough to devour the hot potato she set before us.
