Le Clos Normand

51 Grande rue | Poix-Terron, 08430, Chagny, France

While recently on holiday and staying in a rental property in the small and pretty village of Poix-Terron, four of us decided to try Le Clos Normand one evening for dinner. This is one of only two restaurants in the village and has quite an extensive pizza menu as well as a few other dishes. We weren't actually sure when the restaurant opened as there were no opening times listed in the window when we looked on a previous day, so we took a chance and were pleased to find they were open. The restaurant is split in two - Entering at the bar area with the adjoining restaurant being next door.We were the first people through the doors on this particular evening and we were greeted by a young woman who showed us to a table by the window. My husband's French is rather good so he was able to communicate pretty well. We all decided to have pizza and we were given a menu. We ordered drinks, my husband had a Chimay which was a new Belgian beer for him to try.My choice of pizza for the evening was a simple 'Margherita.' It was delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was pretty big. We didn't have to wait too long for our food and everybody's pizzas arrived at the table nice and hot.As the evening went on another couple entered the restaurant and a couple of men enjoyed a beer at the bar. Music was also put on and although still a quiet place, it had a nice feel to it. It did almost feel like eating in someone's living room at times.Le Clos Normand is really cute and quite quirky. I assume the restaurant is family-run and the staff were really lovely and friendly. There's something really nice about restaurants like this one and I'm so glad we visited. It's worth mentioning that this restaurant also offers takeaway pizzas.
