"Nomen est omen. The „Rasthaus am Mittag“ naturally promises a few hearty lunches and a hearty type of food – but it is simply located at the so-called Mittagberg, high above Immenstadt, in the middle of the Allgäuer Nagelfluhkette. Actually, at the middle station of the chairlift, which is already at 1100 meters high. Here you can either walk up by foot from Immenstadt in about an hour or walk up comfortably with the chairlift for foot sick people and seniors and children. The mountain hut offers plenty of wood and shingles, a very cozy dining room and a sunny outdoor terrace and a few sun loungers on the slopes. But there is really much to experience for children: an extraordinary playground – partly of disassembled chairlift parts – tries to move around when the dear little ones are not yet exhausted from running up. I let myself say that the area is very attractive in winter, but it was also a guest here in early August 2017. And despite the grandiose menu, I had unfortunately only thrown a big drink into a squirting juice choir because I have already planned a longer return to the Sennalpe Oberberg. It will also be discussed here on Gastroguide. After the suspension and home page, “Anneliese and Benno” are at noon responsible for managing the resthouse, while I first accidentally held Benno for the surrounding Bernhardiner who roamed behind every butterfly and every flower. But Benno stands behind the vault, is pretty determined and a little word carg and probably the man or partner of Anneliese . But here is a clear statement without much desire. Of course, this is self-service. Unfortunately, the offer does not depend, but must be viewed on the printed menu. And you don't feel bad: in fact, hot and cold meals are offered everywhere – and that every day! Opening hours from 10:00 to 20:00. Oh, it would have protested the union elsewhere, down in the valley... I'm afraid I have to raise the cats for another visit. The flame cake and the lush sausage and fat bread plates. On the beer tables around me on Tuesday at noon I especially see young families with smaller children. Fritten, Wiener Würstle and Schnitzel are fed. Classic and simple. And everyone sits outside, because after a long time of bad weather, the sun finally shines. But also the cosy interior invites you around the year: wooden ceiling, rustic wall covering, modern tile stove, round wooden benches with red seating, rustic table decoration. All by the way, quite neat and well maintained. I don't know if there's your own toilets at noon. I have definitely signed the well and clearly below the middle station of the chairlift and are just a few steps away. In any case, my esteem applies to the continuous willingness of the dedicated hosts, who probably do not even come from the area. The location is also open for family parties, club parties and school class excursions. There are accommodation options in a bed camp in bunk beds that I did not consider. The whole house looks relatively modern and was probably built or renewed only in recent years. Whoever is responsible for the outdoor design, especially the game equipment all around: great performance, original design, very child-friendly. A few decades ago, I would have been freaked out here! Now I come into the swings and swing courageously into the Allgäu sky. This place is recommended for people of all ages and every culinary taste! For the year!"

"Yesterday was only in an open-air museum, I remembered information about this museum, where I was with passengers I used to be in Kempten. As mentioned in another article, this museum is tailored to the younger generation. There were historical buildings, such as an old farm of about 1900 and an exhibition of Allgäu mining in the entrance building. Since this museum is located at over 1100 meters altitude, everything is closed from the end of November to mid-March. Of course there was also a lively bread time during the tour in an alpine farm on the grounds! Prices are €4.50 for adults and children from 7 15 years old with €3. So who makes a holiday in the Kempten Sonthofen region is worth it!"
