"A visit to the Alpsee mountains with the longest toboggan run in Germany is probably one of the most popular excursions during a family holiday in Allgäu. Manch eats more detailed on the mountain before the Alpsee Coaster climbs – either the Vesper backpack or one of the rustic dishes in the local bear trap. Rather, careful heads prefer to take food and drink, depending on the place. The ice at the valley station of the Alpsee mountains is therefore very popular. Whether you want to reward yourself for the former heroic humility or calm the excited nerves: a lush ice cup or a piece of cake seems to be the right thing for most guests. If you still feel too little adrenaline in the veins, you can drink a coffee above. Who thirsts for vitamins that choose one of the numerous smoothie variations. On warm days we enjoy today in July, the spacious terrace is almost completely occupied, especially in the afternoon – but the friendly and brightly decorated interior is completely empty. Families and groups of friends who don't have so much time and want to go on, usually just take an ice cream. The snake is correspondingly long. The poor girl who is in service here is likely to suffer from a longing in the evening. My accompaniment also shines several ice balls in all conceivable colors, but is so exhausted and plated that no qualified statement about taste and quality can be expected. I myself am a little ratless, because in general the sweetness is not very pleasant. Even a coffee that always goes would be the wrong choice. So I ask the counter for a glass of simple butter milk. If it is not on the map, but here in the region is one of the basic foods. And behold, the girl behind the counter enchants a large carafe from the refrigerator and calculates to me, as she must remember at any price, for the glass buttermilk the fare for a coffee speciality. The butter milk is deliciously cooled, viscous and very saturating. Do not compare with any product at home in the supermarket in the refrigerator. Two glasses would probably save you almost a meal. I enjoy it! The only drawback: the tables in the outdoor area are not regularly wiped, even the dishes used by the predecessors are simple. Maybe it's not always like that, but the day of my visit is a lot. Besides the ice, there are toilets that look very manipulous despite the gigantic and the strong frit. What a miracle! However, I cannot express a special recommendation for ice cream. The service staff is very friendly, but the great rush around is not my taste. If I had a feeling of ice, I would probably rather go to the nearby Immenstadt. There were the children who tortured themselves when they winged...."

"Höfle Alpe is located at an altitude of almost 1100 meters in the Allgäuerische Diepolz, a district of Immenstadt. It is part of the very interesting and very interesting mining museum Diepolz. From 1896, the Alpe was used by the Bavarian prince Regent Luitpold as a hunting quarter for polite hunting, kidnapped in the old town of Oberstdorf and rebuilt in the Mining Museum. If you see them and visit them at the mountain, don't think they've always been here. But be careful: the ascent is quite laborious for people with restrictions and partly also for children. And the air gets a little thinner here. But the location is really fantastic and you have a wide, uncleaned view of the mountain landscape, especially the Säntis. From here you can also start further hikes – or the “Kuhnigundenweg” (with its moderate 5 km can be planned as a family route). The actual guest room is small but tentative and clear. With our 10-person hiking group we have already occupied almost all places. In good weather it is recommended to sit outside on the terrace and enjoy panoramic views. The furniture is rustic and wood-loaded and alpen-functional. The walls are made of coarse wooden boards. The Höfle Alpe is operated by the people of the “Lustigen Hirsch” (I have to return to this legendary inn – this time was not enough). There is self-service on the Alpe. The menu depends, but is also visible at the tables, pretty tied in light green felt. Offer becomes fertile bread times and Vesper (a lot with cheese), but also warming soups, as well as coffee and cakes. The baked goods are all homemade, the cheese comes from the Diepolz mountain cheese shop. Since I had a very detailed breakfast, I loved a bunch of radishes (plus peasant bread) or a cut liqueur shortly before noon – but both were not offered because of the cold weather, as I explained. It just seems like warm weather? No matter, a simple cheese bread with onion rings, paprika strips and cucumbers (4.90 euros) also made quite wonderful. The bread was hearty, with a pleasantly nutty taste. An unspectacular oat coffee for 2.50 euros. To get to the toilet, you need to leave the guest room and cross a part of the barn that is quite excitingly used as a museal space. But respect: To get the right door, some language skills are required: This is how the ladies’ toilet is marked with “Sui”. Children feel really well on the Alpe – like in the entire area of the Mining Museum – and find great suggestions and opportunities at every corner. The staff is warm and very friendly and will be happy to provide information. Due to the usual weather conditions, the Alpe is usually only open from Easter. In case of doubt, a previous call is recommended."
