This is a tale of two dining experiences mine and my wife's. My onion soup appetizer was too hot and scalded the roof of my mouth. Once cooled, however, the soup was excellent. Loaded with onions, melted cheeses in a hearty beef broth. My entrée was chicken piccata which was overcooked and dry with a very bland piccata sauce. Our waiter, David, took the dish back with no problem or question. My wife had the short ribs risotto which she proclaimed to be fabulous. We split a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and berries for dessert which was also excellent. At first I asked for a high table and sat at a regular table. When I made the reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion. I have a birthday. The server never asked. The main problem was that my daughter is allergic to onions and msg. She talked to our server on length and the server assured her that it would be perfect. My daughter ordered a hamburger and broccoli. She was brought a hamburger with onions and french fries. She wasn't comfortable ordering something else so she didn't eat. Your restaurant makes it known that they carry allergies. Someone messed up. You removed the hamburger from the bill. Last year we ate at the 110 Grill in Berlin, MA. The same story. We were 25 minutes early for our reservation. The kind young man at the host desk confirmed we would need a gluten free menu and sat us right away. Manager brought out the gluten free food and chatted with us. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because we had asked for no scallions on the nachos and totachos, both of which were served to us with them so then we had to pick them off. Also, the gluten free cake is a brownie consistency, tastes good, but doesn’t taste like cake at all.
I understand a busy Saturday night is what it is, however, we had an 830 reservation and didn’t get out of the restaurant until 10 o’clock with a table of four. It took a long time for our server to even take drink orders and then forever to get the food to the table. I would give it another shot if we didn’t have two young kids and it wasn’t so late. The food was good and the atmosphere was typical American bar and Grill. Réservez une table maintenant
Overall great experience. The wait staff was attentive but not over bearing. She did a great job of reading the table dynamic. Food was very good and the attention to allergies is extremely impressive. None of our party has food allergies but I have a son who does and I have to say that 110 Grill is in a class of its own in terms of its approach. Nothing short of outstanding.
This is a wonderful that has something for everyone. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options that are really good. We had reservations for 12:30 and didnt get our food for over an hour. Price is right. Noise level can be a bit much during lunch time. Wait staff very friendly and helful.
If I were to recommend it would be solely for the food. Our waiter was not attentive at all, and sometimes we didn’t see him for 15-20 minutes. A different waiter actually brought our food over. When he was at the table, he was not personable to myself or my wife at all.
