1200 Chophouse - Réservation de table

We haven't been here in a few months, but with rising food prices, it's not surprising that the baked potato is significantly smaller now. I ordered the steak skewers, which came with a potato and a salad. Unfortunately, my steak seemed to have been sitting for a while because neither mine nor my daughter's was hot. In addition, mine was overcooked despite my request for medium rare. I understand that the restaurant may be trying to cut costs, but when it compromises the food quality, that's a real issue. I could have sent it back, but I was too hungry and decided to eat it anyway since it still tasted good. Overall, the food is decent, but sadly not as good as it used to be.

When one thinks of dining on the Pinellas beaches, juicy steaks aren't often the first menu items that spring to mind in an area rich with grouper sandwiches, fried shrimp, burgers and conch fritters. Overlooking 1200° Chophouse on St. Pete Beach, however, would be a mistake. This small, carnivorous den of inequity is casually appointed with cowhide-print walls and utilitarian wooden chairs, tables and bar stools built to withstand the restaurant's heavy rotation of hungry locals and tourons. With seating available for only approximately 40-50 people at the bar, indoor and outdoor tables combined, go early or be prepared to wait as reservations are not accepted here.

We decided to come here after being told there would be a one-hour wait at Snappers. We were seated immediately at a nice table indoors. The interior is cozy, but there’s a spacious patio—though unfortunately, there's no beach view. The prices felt a bit high for what we received. The food was underseasoned, and I found myself adding a lot of salt and pepper. The steak was cooked perfectly, and my husband and child really enjoyed the lobster tail. I ordered a chopped salad with filet skewers, and it was just average.

This is a small, highly popular steakhouse where there's often a wait for a table. The steaks, particularly the rib eye we tried, are better than average, and the sauces available—like béarnaise and blue cheese—are excellent. The fries topped with Gouda sauce were tasty, while the wedge salad was decent. The service was above average. We sampled several side dishes; however, we didn't care for the sautéed spinach, and the broccoli was just okay. The mashed potatoes were also average. Réservez une table maintenant

Best mean of the trip... But. Best meal of the trip, however I was caught off guard when we got the bill for the porterhouse for two.... The menu is a bit deceiving unless you read carefully the price is $32.95 per person. They should be clear and just say it's $65.90. Our bill for my family of 3 was $114, and I thought I was only ordering two entrees. Nevertheless the steak was outstanding and I would definitely recommend! Worth every penny.

This is an excellent restaurant with outstanding service! The filet was incredibly flavorful and tender—truly remarkable! It was perfectly complemented by the mashed potatoes. The salad was delightful too! The Gorgonzola sauce was quite rich and not really my preference, but it was still delicious.

Great place. Excellent food. Started with the bacon wrapped diver scallops, followed by a fantastic salad and for the main course had an awesome veal chop. Suggest the Zucardi Malbec wine to compliment the meal. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was upbeat with a nice vibe.

The restaurant is small but offers excellent food. There’s seating available both indoors and outdoors, as well as a bar. The service was commendable, and the bathroom was clean. It opens at 5 PM, and when I arrived at 5:20, every table was already filled by 5:30. Réservez une table maintenant

What a find! Have been vacationing at St Pete beach for 4 years now and finally have a great restaurant to enjoy. Service was great, food was excellent. Will be a staple for our visits here from now on.

Great steak, though a bit too heavily seasoned. Service was great, salad and rolls exceptional. Encironment is warm, though small and no reservations, so arrive early.
