We booked a table on-line but could only obtain an 8.30 sitting. Despite this we arrived early intending to have a pre dinner drink in the bar. However the place was packed and people were turning up on spec and being seated while we waited fruitlessly for any service. When we complained we were eventually ushered to a table and finally served with our drinks. After that things improved significantly. The starters and mains were excellent and were served promptly. To be fair there were only three servers and they were under enormous pressure.
Our experience at 1890 Trattoria in Montreux was simply lovely. We liked it so much that we visited the restaurant on several occasions. The food was exceptional, with delicious dishes and fresh ingredients. The attention of the waiters was excellent, always attentive and kind. The restaurant is impeccably furnished and maintained, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of options and the quality of the food is unquestionable. We recommend it 100%! With Italian cuisine, it is impossible to be disappointed!
I ordered a small salad as a starter. On the card clearly marked 8fr/12fr. (started on the main course). I asked and they said there was no such thing as a small mixed salad . In short... the waiters were nice enough, but they didn't even ask if I wanted water for my little dog. Little things that make the difference.
We arrived 9 minutes late to be ordered to stand in a corner. 5 minutes later the maitre ‘d stormed up to inform us that as we were 15 minutes late he had given away our table. He was terribly rude and aggressive. His attitude completely ruined our evening. Unfortunately he found us a table but the food was mediocre.

This is a very reasonably priced restaurant right in the middle of montreux. The food was great and staff were chatty and helpful and the atmosphere on a Saturday night was great!
As someone pointed out, they prefer to hire waiters who don't speak French, instead of taking a girl from the East who knows the French language perfectly. Good luck
Very nice restaurant, friendly staff, well located, fast and tasty food, small menu error regarding the price of a starter, apart from that I would give it 5 stars
An exceptional place I ate a Fiorentina that was just excellent. The service is perfect. Super nice staff. Very fast. I highly recommend this establishment.

It's a quiet, peaceful place, very clean! Smiling waitress. We had a pleasant time. As for the rest, I cannot give my opinion, because we did not eat.
Delicious food. Best food we’ve had in Switzerland so far. Flavoursome.
