We asked the hotel for a recommendation where to eat seafood this was it and it was perfect! We’d been in Aus to run the UTA, had a chilled night in Coogee after the event and just wanted good fresh seafood and no fuss....Loved being able to add to our plates as hunger (okay, greed dictated. Loved the massive pile of bokchoy and simple rice accompaniment. Canteen style, Fluoro lights a bit bright but suited the style of the place. Great experience.
We visited A fish called Coogee' as it was recommended on our trip to Sydney, Coogee Bay. We ordered the battered fish and chips, battered prawns, potato scallops and some sauces which came to dollars. It's great to see the fresh fish laid out...in front of you so you can choose what you'd like, but the taste of the dishes didn't blow me away and I thought it was pretty pricey! I'm not sure it's worth the hype and probably wouldn't visit again.
Read about this fish chips place in the Lonely Planet, and it did not disappoint. Fascinating range of fresh fish, octopus, scallops etc ... we had good old “fish and chips” , and found it excellent. Super crispy chips with a lovely tangy mayonnaise...and good portion of lightly battered fish. Not really a place to eat in although we enjoyed perching on the stools on the pavement watching Coogee life. A winner !!
we are natives have often eaten, taken in the years. can only assume that management has changed. waiting for minutes for removal is not up. obviously understated it doesn't matter. can't work like the people after me. ordered fish chips to go away with their order minutes before my one order of fish and chips. will not come back. Be careful of what they charge you here they do the fish by weight and then as we found out overcharge you. When questioned they blamed it on the system and only after arguing offered to recalculate and give refund which we refused and...said it wasn't about the money but admitting they were wrong
Among the many fish and chips shops around, this came out to be on of my choice. Fish was fresh and big, marinated octopus, balinese salmon, lime and lemongrass dory were superbly grilled. A bit on the pricey side but the freshness was worth the...spending.
we're going to the week. it is super relaxed, shorts, cosies, strings and a bottle vino is perfect. the fish is fresh and perfectly cooked. many variations of marinated fishing. simple, but a great place for a quick bite.
This place is expensive but the food is worth it I rarely go but when I do I love it. The food is fresh seafood and tasty and the salads are also fresh and delicious. Réservez une table maintenant
