This has quickly become my 'go to ' place for sushi. I 've had quite a variety of their rolls, and everything was quite good! In-person dining is best described as intimate owing to the small size of the restaurant. If you 're claustrophobic, this might be off putting. Seems clean; a bit heavy on dark wood. Service was efficient, though the woman that served our table during my first visit seemed overwhelmed (I believe she was the sole server). Poor thing! My preference is to order for takeout so I can pig out in private at home. My all time personal favorite sushi restaurant. Modern and comfortable interior cool decorations with the most adorable and nice staff. Service never takes more than 15minutes even on pick up always great timing. The menu is well organized and the items are all insane. I love the variety of prices and portions. The ninja roll, gyoza, California roll, vegetable roll, cucumber roll, and Alaskan roll, even the salad are my favorite everything here is breathtaking. I WISH I COULD EAT HERE EVERY DAY. Never gotten sick from here I always feel really good after eating from abashiri I swear it improves health, energy, and mentally.
Abashiri is my favorite place for sushi in the suburbs. Their sushi is delicious and their spicy tuna is so good you can taste the spicy. There are other places I?ve tried, but this spicy tuna is by far my favorite since you can really taste it?s flavor.It?s nice and cozy inside and the service is great. I enjoy their food and the different varieties of rolls they have to offer.Adding on, the prices are super affordable. I?m definitely coming back to this place and it is now my go to spot for sushi. YouMUST check this place out. I give this place 5 stars!!!!
Additionally, when my husband arrived at the restaurant to pick up the order, the woman at the counter almost refused to hand over our food, repeatedly shouting "Grubhub!?" at him, despite him clearly stating the name on the order. After a while, he said, “Never mind! I’ll just leave without our paid food!” That’s not how you should handle a pickup order. If the name matches the order, just give them their food! Not everyone who orders is there to pick it up, and many might not be aware of the third-party service. We won’t be coming back!

If you are a sushi lover, this is the place for you! We got the AYCE and absolutely loved it! The rolls were the perfect size. Sometimes with AYCE, places will add to much rice, but not Abashiri. The ingredients they use are fresh and savory. There are so many rolls to choose from and they put pictures of the rolls on their menu, which is super helpful when trying to decide which rolls to order. Our favorite rolls were the godzilla, samurai, and spider. The service was fast and the staff was very friendly. We cannot wait to go back!
This is the best AYCE sushi spot in all of Illinois. I always come here with my friends and family, and this place never disappoints. What I love about this place is the rice to fish ratio (normally AYCE sushi places jam pack the rolls with enormous amounts of rice, but this place does thin layers of rice). Unfortunately, I've never taken any photos of the sushi rolls, but I do have a photo of a heart shaped green onion in my miso soup.
This little gem is a great spot for a nice quiet lunch. That's exactly what I chose to do when I stopped by. The service is nice and quick Though they are tough about leftovers. This was a great experience pay close attention as you can over order. It's very welcoming and homely , especially the music.
We've been enjoying meals at Abashiri for more than 20 years. The food and service have always been outstanding. Our favorite is the Big Boat, which includes a combination of rolls, sushi, sashimi, chicken teriyaki, and tempura. Delicious!
