To start on a positive note, the service was excellent. We were a party of four and all opted for the prix-fixe menu. The bread was just okay; I wasn’t fond of it, but others seemed to enjoy it. The “salatim” was mediocre and nowhere near the quality of their other restaurants—so unremarkable that I can’t even recall what they were. For the first course, I had the matzo ball soup, as did two others in our group. It was a hearty soup filled with vegetables and chicken, but the predominant flavor was salt. One person ordered the beets and claimed they were amazing. For the main course, three of us ordered the short rib. Spoiler alert: it was basically hot pastrami. It was absolutely deliciou...

I hate to write bad reviews but this restaurant did not live up to my expectations. Had it been better I wouldn?t mind the $110 per person price tag. (I did write privately to the restaurant in Resy but they didn?t respond I want to mention before I go on that the service was excellent. We were 4 people and all did the price fixed menu. To start, the bread was ok. I didn?t care for it, but everyone else ate it. The ?salatim? were fair. Nothing like their other restaurants. So unremarkable that I don?t even remember what they were. Then we got the first course. I had the matzo ball soup (as did 2 others . It was definitely a hearty soup with lots veggies and some chicken, but the over powerin...
It was evident that the staff was focused on promoting the most expensive prix fixe menu. The only mention of their signature dish, the short ribs, was on this prix fixe menu, as they had been intentionally omitted from the list of regular entrees. As a result, everyone at our table felt pressured to choose the prix fixe short ribs. However, one person opted for a different entree, and after the appetizers were served, everyone else received their short ribs, while the one who ordered differently was left with nothing to eat. Getting the waiter’s attention was a challenge. Whenever we did manage to reach him, his response was always, "I’ll ask the kitchen." After 45 minutes of waiting—even...
After visiting Zahav and Laser Wolf we decided to try Abe Fischer. I find Abe Fischer to be the most tasteful and elegant of the three, with a cozy and composed atmosphere and a coherent menu that is elaborate but it is not rambling. The pickles, rolls and spread that opened our menu were mostly very tasty, all but one that was off-balance with its seasoning. My borscht tartare was only accompanied by even better house-made chips. The latke fries were generous, if somewhat under-seasoned.My Montreal short ribs was melting in my mouth. The freshly-cracked pepper was probably the most aromatic pepper I have ever tasted. My partner's steak was properly cooked to med-rare, although the summer sq... Réservez une table maintenant
My hubby and I tried Israeli food for the first time. Wow, food was amazing! Rebecca, our server, was spectacular. All the staff were very attentive and efficient. I see that there’s teamwork here.It is a Prix Fixe Menu $60 per person. Which is reasonable for what they serve. I ordered chicken liver mouse (YUM! for my appetizer, salmon with yellow wax beans for my entree, and pavlova for dessert. This was all good. Presentation was superb. I didn’t get to take any pics of our entrees an desserts bc the food was inviting. ?My hubby order, fries latkes for appetizer, Montreal short rib for entree and he had pavlova, as well. Never had latkes like that. So good! The Montreal short rib, melts in...
Absolutely try the short rib—it's incredibly delicious! It's fresh, expertly prepared, and pairs perfectly with their sauce, vegetables, and bread. The non-alcoholic drinks are a hidden gem not listed on the menu; I highly recommend the red one called "Don't Call Me Shirley." The blue drink is also tasty, though I can’t recall the exact name, but it's something to do with butterfly. The custard dessert is definitely my favorite! The service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is fantastic! You really need to give this place a try!
I visited this restaurant while on a work trip, and I have to say that Morgan was amazing. I typically allow my server to choose dishes for me since I'm not picky, and everything he recommended was absolutely delicious. Once I hit my spending limit for the day, he surprised me with an extra glass of wine to enjoy with my meal. I have to give my compliments to both the chef and the staff. The latke fries were the best fries and the best hash browns I’ve ever tasted, and the cocktails were fantastic as well. Truly impressive!
Having lived in Philadelphia for over four years, it’s disappointing that I only had the chance to visit this restaurant after I moved. It was a fantastic experience. The food was excellent and offers a unique option within the Philly dining scene. The restaurant has a cool, sleek atmosphere and our waiter was exceptional—very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive, and genuinely friendly. I’m really sad to hear that it’s closing; it was truly a memorable experience. Réservez une table maintenant
