This is my second time ordering from this spot. The first time was a charm the second time left me a very bad taste in my mouth. I ordered with my credit card and decided I wanted to purchase a bottle of water. I pulled out a dollar that's clearly ripped but it's still a dollar bill it's all currency just because it's ripped it doesn't devalue it's worth this is New York City. The cashier looked at my dollar in disgust and said she can not accept it because of the way it looks which is already a red flag I'm a young black woman and have never heard of a business refusing to accept money because of how it looks it's all currency nothing more then energy nothing else. Established businesses don't care about things like that so since they made such a big deal about the way my dollar looked I offered to hand her another dollar and after that the energy was off. All of the workers including the manager had very condescending attitudes towards me my burrito was cold and hard I asked for extra sauce the woman didn't even hand it to me she dropped it on the table just a really uncomfortable experience . I can tell they don't have very many black customers. The energy was giving racist and ignorance. The fact that they didn't find value in a dollar because it was ripped I'm a business owner and that just doesn't add up at all. They want us to stop talking about racism like it doesn't exist when it clearly does they just try to paint over it with fake smiles and gaslighting but I see through it all and I won't be coming back.
I get the same items every time. They are always different. I assume different employees put a different spin on how they prepare things. TBH I love it, because it doesn't feel like I'm eating/drinking the same thing over and over. 95% of the time it's awesome; 5% of the time it's wack. Totally worth it to feel like I'm eating food that someone put real love and care into. That's really good vibes when you live far from home and don't cook much. This place rules. Every rare once in a while it doesn't. I don't say this to dissuade you, but if you randomly have an imperfect experience, do yourself a favor and give them another chance. I will never stop obsessively ordering from Abracadabra. It's literally magic.
the food is always good to me. Its the service that gets me. there is a lady that works here n she is soooooo rude. when im craving something from here i peak my head in to see if that lady is working because i dont want her mean ass touching my food or my money AT ALL. she might be an owner idk... but she needs to stick to backend work bc her attitude is nasty dismissive she clearly doesn't like people
Delicious and healthy Turkish spot! Amazing vegan and gluten free pastries. Great music, vibes, and energy! Turkish coffee: Very strong small coffee that comes with Turkish delight! Best Turkish delight I've ever had Lions mane energy truffle: Very dense and earthy, filling in a very healthy way!
