We are part of a dinner club where a couple will choose a venue every other month or so. With so many places in Melbourne refusing to take bookings at all, or for larger groups, this is quite a task. Slightly disappointing for the price compared to other places in Richmond. The oysters were not fresh and had a slight stale flavor. The main was ok but as with everything my partner and I had it was ordinary for the price at around $35 for a main which should have a slight "wow" factor but nothing here did. The cocktails at around $23 were also ordinary. The service was friendly enough but we won't be going back as living in Richmond we can access much better places.To put it simply, Academy is not living up to the ever developing high culinary standards of it's area.
