Inner west hidden gem -Good Food BYO On Friday Saturday and Sunday including lunch on Sunday) a chef is at this restaurant serving up authentic Portuguese food. The food is good, we had a whole barramundi, steak and the most fantastic chips but round, garlic prawns, calamari and a very fresh salad. It’s BYO so that’s good re cost. There is seating inside and out. Lovely and warm inside. Strangely it was busy but we could still hear what each of us were saying. Service good. It'as the Saturday before ANZAC day and covid had faded. Everyone was relaxed and casual. With our limited experience of Portuguese cuisine we decided to share dishes. Every other table was occupied by boisterous Portuguese families. This was hearty food, wonderful thin based pizzas, distinctive entrees, great salted fish and seafood, luscious meats and mountains of French Fries. This small pizzeria appears charming. However, I called ahead to order a gluten-free pizza, waited 25 minutes, walked over to pick it up, and discovered they were out of gluten-free bases. It seems they had sold out. They also did not have gluten-free pasta available. They did offer fish and chips, but it was not suitable for those with celiac disease. The restaurant has an old-school vibe and the food seems to be of good quality and traditional. My friends ordered pizzas that looked appetizing with thin bases and generous toppings. Unfortunately, I will not be returning due to the lack of gluten-free options. The staff were polite enough.
My first Portuguese food in my life and it was more than amazing! Especially Cabidela had good vinegar sour, but mild taste, and very rich flavor. Honestly when my boyfriend told me about this food, i was a little bit worried.. as I had never tried any food with blood. But i was impressed! This restaurant is amazing! The food is fresh and delicious, served promptly with great friendly service. The Beef a Portuguesa is a must-try dish, along with the garlic prawns, chorizo, and creme brûlée. There are so many other dishes to try as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. 5/5 rating, keep up the good work!
