To be honest İ am surprised that they are still in business...maybe it is because they have no competition ın Tübingen. Firstly, made us wait 20 mins because he dint know if there is sittıng for 3. Then we dıscovered a table that was available the whole time and we asked to sit there. After about 15 mins we finally got someone to take our oder and we also asked hım to clear the table. We waited 1.2 hours for the food and everytime we asked they said it will come soon...we are just serving it on the plate. When in the end we could stand it anymore the waiter got into a shouting match wıth us and told us ıf we dont want the food we can simply leave. The lady cookıng was also shoutıng from the...
I met friends here. it was a nice overall experience. very friendly waiter, tasty eating and a beautiful African ambiente that takes you from Germany. I have ordered the vegetarian probier plate that can be seen on the picture below. all the options were very healthy, including spinach, kartoffeln and a mixture of other vegetables. the flavors of the food combinations fit all very well. under the eating was a round disc of special African brotes, in which you wrap the food to eat it. a basket with additional brot came with. we let the evening sound with a big cane coffee and a bowl of popcorn! it was all very good! we will be back:
The Africa restaurant is a breath of fresh air, when it comes to vegetarian food in Tübingen. The vegetarian "probier Teller" is really tasty, bread is fantastic and the portions are really big. What is really irritating me is the lack of African atmosphere.The furniture is very old and typical for German "Gaststätte" and though a few African elements are added like deco and music, it is still a bit depressing and boring. Service is a bit slow, but very relaxed and friendly. All in all, I can only recommend the place.
We're so accustomed to waitresses using electronic tablet to take orders, and beers arriving before you have time to go to the toilette, that we sometimes forgot how it does look to actually wait for someone to cook a complete meal for us. Here everything looks so fresh and tasty that you will enjoy the act of eating. If you share a meal with someone, ask for the big common dish, as tradition. Very nice also the coffee ritual. Definitively a place to go. Don't be ashamed to ask how to use the bread! Réservez une table maintenant
Tasty food, could be a bit more spicy, but that would not go well with the local taste buds I assume. Ask for (really) hot, if you like it spicy! I enjoy Tibs im Grilltopf most, but the vegetarian probier teller is really nice as well. The surroundings give a nice and comfortable atmosphere. The people are relaxed, friendly and funny. We go regularly and enjoy it.
