This place is, well, average or maybe even "good" by the local Schwäbisch standard, judging by the number of customers there. But let's be honest, it is bad. The pizzas taste like cardboard -- it is impossible to chew. One of the three pizzas we ordered was burned pretty bad by the rim. And all the pizzas we tried are so salty! I am a person who usually complain about food that's not salty enough but oh my this place, is out of the ordinary. What's even worse, the service is horrific. The waiters all looked like they had a bad day. They are only there at the beginning to take your order, and then they disappeared.. We felt like we had to "beg" to pay! What a restaurant!

This is pretty much the only restaurant in a large residential and hospital area, no wonder it is popular. It was clearly a good idea to reserve. This is a solid, average Italian restaurant, not more or less. The pizza and pasta dishes are good, but not outstanding. A bit pricey perhaps, but that is the case für Tübingen in general. Service is friendly and efficient, if a little impersonal. There is no list with bottled wines, only an offer of generic wines by the glass ("Chianti"), but on request they were able to produce a decent bottle of Primitivo di Manduria. Summary: not worth a detour, but a perfectly ok choice if you are in the area and need food.

I asked for a gf Margherita pizza for takeout and received it. Making the pizza gf added. 3 Euros to the price, but it was a large pizza so could feed more than one person. It‘s not the best pizza I‘ve ever eaten, but it was nice to be able to eat pizza for the first time since arriving in Germany around a month ago :

Bella Roma is undergoing right now renovation - for a short period. It will open very soon with renewed kitchen and restaurant. We go there very often and enjoy the wooden stove pizza and the Italian style salads. It is very popular with students and also other local customers. Nice service and nice tables.
