This is pretty much the only restaurant in a large residential and hospital area, no wonder it is popular. It was clearly a good idea to reserve. This is a solid, average Italian restaurant, not more or less. The pizza and pasta dishes are good,...but not outstanding. A bit pricey perhaps, but that is the case für Tübingen in general. Service is friendly and efficient, if a little impersonal. There is no list with bottled wines, only an offer of generic wines by the glass "Chianti but on request they were able to produce a decent bottle of Primitivo di Manduria. Summary: not worth a detour, but a perfectly ok choice if you are in the area and need food.
The restaurant is a family business, the boss always comes to the table and asks if everything was right. I asked for a gf Margherita pizza for takeout and received it. Making the pizza gf added. 3 Euros to the price, but it was a large pizza so could feed more than one person.
