If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would!! Horrible dining experience!! I went to this restaurant tonight with my family for dinner and was extremely disappointed. I have frequented this establishment several times in the past but today was the first time I was treated like a thief. We had a party of 5 adults and were seated. I was not feeling hungry enough to have AYCE so I selected a bento box. Immediately the waitress said everyone has to have AYCE at the table. Dinner was a choice of a la carte items or their all you can eat choice. We were 2 having dinner and we ordered a la carte items with a $50 value. We've frequented this restaurant quite a bit over the years. They often get bad reviews for the service but it really is not that bad... it's service. Don't expect to be overly pampered. You order, they serve your food, kindly, that's it. As for the food, It will keep you coming back! It's not loaded with salt and it's always fresh. It became a family favourite because it was one of few places with a 25km radius that actually serve green tea inclusive and they have WAKAME salad! Not seaweed... wakame! We were there last night. This was our fourth or fifth time there. The first was Feb 14 this year and this place had a long line waiting for the tables. Even though this was so busy, the food was quite good and therefore we came back again and again. This was quite disappointing last time (a few months ago) and we came to the conclusion that Shoygun was much better in both sushi maki rolls and other kitchen items. Excellent service, excellent food, very clean. My wife and went for a las minute thought for dinner get like sushi and this location. Was close. The parking is horrible but that’s not the fault of the restaurant. We were seated very quickly and served just as quick. I decided to put the restaurant to the test after reading the reviews, I placed large orders, took my sweet time. Throughout the whole process I was treated very well. The waitresses were very pleasant and accommodating, at no point did I feel my space was being in crouched. Food is great however people are grumpy and rude. Went there with my family and we used to go there frequently but this time we’re done. Every time we go to this place the waitresses and the gentleman who calls himself the manager get more rude and miserable. Not sure if it’s because we’re not Asian but no matter when we go (lunch or dinner) it’s like pulling teeth to get a smile out of these people. If you don’t want to be there then quit and go somewhere else. These people need to realize that customer service is important and with out customers they won’t have any jobs.
Foods not good, service is TERRIBLE, don't pay attention to you AT ALL . Manager is cheap and very rude also doesn't care about his customers. On last visit we got seated by the window and it was full of bugs dead and alive. if thats what the outside looks like imagine the kitchen . GROSS. never will be returning. glad we found kuu sushi near promenade mall ! worth the drive.
After many years going being a customer at Aji Sai i have cut ties. Tried to substitute an item on an oder which i have done many times in the past i was told that i had to pay extra to do it. The person on the phone was rude and pretty well did not care that i was a long time loyal customer. No problem there is lots of competition around and they do not seem to care.
New owners with lots of care , energy and great food! Now that restaurants are open, it’s our go to place for all you can eat Japanese food and great overall Asian food. Although it’s pricey since everything has gone up after Covid, we enjoy it very much, and feel it’s well worth it.
