Akropolis Bad SÄckingen

We arrived at the restaurant at 18:00 which was nice because it wasn’t busy. We love Greek food and the food was definitely 5* but the atmosphere and service was terrible and less than 2*. We ordered starters and they were so good, we asked if we could order the same cold starter to take away for a friend who couldn’t join us. We were told that this would not be an issue. We waited for our main course which was not rushed and gave us a nice break between courses. Looking around, we noticed that everyone else was given free ouzo’s before their meals, which we were not offered. We had to keep asking for drinks which seemed to annoy the waiters. On asking for the bill we also asked for the starter platter we ordered. This needed to be prepared and we were given the wrong order twice. The restaurant only accepts cash but doesn’t mention that when entering.

This place has great ambience and delicious food! When we went, the terrace was full but they were nice enough to accomodate us once a table was cleared. The portions are huge so please bring an appetite! Food was very nice with great variety. There was also greek wine on the menu! I have given 4 stars because service takes a while. We were there for a long time waiting for food. But it was sooo worth it!

Food was excellent and the portion sizes were massive. As others have noted it is famed for slow delivery of food and they took their time but it was worth the wait. It would be nice to have some pedestal ventilators on a hot day though.
