"We had lunch there with kids and friends. Bad decision. Even though it is well located and a nice setting that won't help with the food and service. The calamari was the worst that I've tried for a long time, the pizza was a joke (bad one) and the waitress was clueless. For a restaurant it was not too badly priced but it turned out to be a very expensive fish and chips."

We went here after finding out the place we wanted to go to was closed for renovations. We thought that because it had a wood fired pizza oven it couldn't be bad. My husband ordered a pizza. it was not good, it was so oily in the centre (an actual puddle) that he had to mop it up with serviettes. I ordered one of the specials which was the Lamb shanks with roasted vegetables. Hmmm, the lamb shank was fine, but the vegetables were definitely not mush in the roasted area (and were quite oily). My daughter's pasta dish was ordered for a child, it had paprika sprinkled over the sides (which i had to wipe off as she would have found it a bit spicy), and it too was quite oily. I have to say you ge...

I was really looking forward to returning to this restaurant after 7 years and taking my husband. The hospitality used to be outstanding, friendly and warm and you always left with a full stomach and a big smile after a top evening!...It truly was fantastic to see our friends again and this really made the evening. The food was ok; cheap and cheerful - although we had one dish missing from the table and one member of our party had to wait a further 15minutes for their dinner. The hospitality was awful, no welcome, no checking to see if we were enjoying the dinner, no asking to see if we wanted desserts or coffee and eventually at 8:40pm they turned in the air con and turned the room into a f...

We visited Al Porto Vecchio for lunch while we were out for a visit to Williamstown. My partner asked for the scotch fillet on the menu to be told by the waiter that it isn't on the menu anymore. He then ordered a porterhouse which was cooked to his liking but the rest of the vegies on the plate were a bit ordinary.I ordered a Caesar salad and although they were listed in the menu, included tomato, olives, cucumber so felt a bit Caesar half Greek salad. I asked for the avocado dressing on the side which thank goodness I did ask for it in the side as it was quite disgusting.Coffee was great.Service was excellent and all waiter and waitresses friendly.Probably wouldn't visit again

I eat at a lot of Melbourne city and inner West places. Typically a group of us look for Food around the $17 mark with cheap drinks. In our view this place is one of the best. Pastas are the pick of the menus and are absolutely fantastic for the price. Chicken pasta and Sicilian are great picks. Jug of Beer $13. You won't find pints anywhere that cheap. House wine cheap and drinkable. Interestingly mozzarella over the other side has very similar prices almost identical. Is good as well. Makes me wonder if same owner or competition at its finest. I will admit service is **** however it seems to be picking up. Weekends are better. Réservez une table maintenant

The food was average, to say the leastThe service was poor, they didn't seem to care very much.Decor outdated and filthy. The toilets are DISGUSTING!!! It looks like they have NEVER cleaned them. A lot of people from our table of 13 people commented on the toilets. The women especially were horrified at the state of them.To the owner...Heads up mate: If you think you want to try run a restaurant, 1 very important thing to remember is clean the toilets. People are eating there and have to go into that filth-hole them return to eat the food you serve them.WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!

This is probably one of the best value for money restauaranta in Williamstown. The food is usually good fare as you would expect, without the exorbitant prices that other restaurants that come and go charge. The wood-fired disaster blaster pizza is a winner and the house wines quite drinkable. The biggest problem with this restaurant is in the service area - it's almost non-existant on busy nights and staff not overly friendly. If they fixed this up, this would be a great place to go regularly. It's tried and true and out-lasted nearly every other restaurant on Nelson Place.

We went for lunch, our drinks order was mixed up, we received our entree 19 mins apart after waiting 40 mins for oysters? We ordered another drink whe entree was delivered which didn't arrive and I had to ask after. Then our main which was only fish and chips got given to other diners who had ordered 10 mins prior. Finally got main after another 40 mins, was very nice but were then charged for the drink we didn't order plus an extra soft drink that we didn't have. Won't be back.

Staying in the area for work and looking for somewhere for quick dinner - menu looked ok and we both selected one of the specials - rib eye on the bone with veg .Having seen some less than ideal reviews I will say that the service was quick and cheerful, although a bit inexpert. Our steaks were very good and cooked as ordered and the veg was fine, if not electrifying. Décor a bit tired and I suspect it would get a bit crowded on a busy night - we were midweek. Last minute decision to stop here for lunch midweek. What a gem. Quick & friendly service, reasonable prices, relaxing atmosphere but there's more.. had the most amazing tasting baked barramundi that I have ever eaten. The flavour of the sauce was outstanding and fish cooked to perfection, was served with Greek salad, partner had smoked salmon & avocado risotto, again was perfect, full of flavour and generous serve. Will be eating here again.. soon I hope
