Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. For my starter, I had mushrooms on toast, followed by a beef main course and a selection of cheeses and desserts. The mushrooms on toast were decent, though a bit cold, but they were difficult to eat due to their long, thin strands. The bread, while delicious, was soggy in the center and only crispy around the edges, thanks to the sauce and olive oil that made it mushy—not the most enjoyable experience. For the main course, I believe it was braised beef on the bone served with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans, mashed potatoes, and gravy were fine, but the beef was mostly fat, and the little bit of meat I could salvage was tough....
Very nicely laid out venue with indoor and outdoor seating area waiting staff were very attentive without being over the top. The general atmosphere was good and condusive to having a good chat between people in our group and they seam well setup for larger parties. Not a huge menu but there's a good selection that allows all with different tastes to chose something. Food came out in a timely basis, between us we had a variety of dinners all but one was OK, however the rib eye steak ordered appeared to be a tough piece of fillet steak and not a ribeye I can honestly say one of the worst I have had, the vegetables were ok but appeared to be pre cooked and microwave reheated. We had a wonderful experience at Alberts for gluten-free dining. We used vouchers for afternoon tea, and instead of simply removing most options, they replaced nearly the entire menu with gluten-free alternatives, leaving just two exceptions: tartlets and donuts. However, the food was so delicious that I didn't even miss them! The gluten-free items were served separately on their own "tower," which minimized the risk of cross-contamination. The staff were very accommodating; since gluten-free options are uncommon, they offered to either create a dish for me or let me choose from the main menu. this is my favourite place to eat in the Wigan area. it is quite large with tables inside and outside (with some protection and heating for a part of them), but I would recommend booking. had the skalopps to begin, perfectly cooked, only wished there were more of them! stuffed huhn than a main and sirloin steak as the other, both with dauphinois both delicious and spiced perfectly. the chocolate volcano did not break out, but it was delicious, especially with the pistachio ice cream. some nice choices on the wine list, the valpo was delicious. service and atmosphere all well. Based on the meals we enjoyed—starting with appetizers, followed by the main course, and finished off with dessert—I can confidently say that everything was well-presented, delicious, and reasonably priced. Perhaps just as important as the food was the excellent service we received. The staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive, making us feel well cared for throughout our visit. They also have a fantastic selection of wines. Overall, it's an amazing place, and I will definitely be returning!
Huge venue with ample parking. Excellent food and service. Young guy called Andretti I think? Really nice guy, very friendly and helpful. Not too expensive. Booking is a must. More places should have a dress code like this. Don’t turn up for dinner in Track suit pants and a baseball cap. They will rightly send you away. Dress to impress people, raise the standards!
Lovely restaurant to visit. Nice decor and ambience.Tables available both inside and outside. Our waiter Andrei was very attentive and polite. He provided an excellent service. The food matched the service and did not disappoint. Good quality delicious food nicely presented. Plenty of onsite parking as well. Highly recommended.
My wife and I made a last-minute reservation at this restaurant, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice from start to finish. The service was excellent, and the food was incredible, offering great value for money. I can honestly say it's the best pizza I've ever had in my life. We will definitely be returning to Albert's!
