Alex's Takeaway Food

I had been disappointed with our usual fish chip shop, so looked for a new local place. Found Alex 's online, and decided to try it out. We are so glad we did! This was the best fish chips meal we have had for years! Yes for years we have put up with 'just ok ' in Altona, but now we have an 'amazing ' shop to eat from! <br/ <br/ I had a delicious burger, the chips were amazing, potato cakes were spot on. <br/ <br/ Lastly, call me old school, but to be welcomed with a smile when you walk in to a shop these days is incredibly rare, and something that I actually like. You don 't get polite service like this these days! And a welcoming hello and goodbye was what I received from Alex when I walke...

I have been to this restaurant a few times and the owners are lovely. It has an old-school fish and chip shop feel (think 1970s) and the burgers are huge. The food is always fresh and crispy. Alex even gave us some calamari rings and potato donuts while we waited. I am always happy to make the drive to support this business.

I have to say that I was very skeptical about this little shop. However I decided to give it a go and it surely lives up to the amazing reviews! <br/ <br/ The crumbed and fried fish are both yummy so do the chips. I’m not usually a fan of potato cakes but they are great too. <br/ <br/ Will be back for more!

I ordered the flake with a side of chips, potato cakes, and calamari rings. The owner was very generous and even gave me some potato donuts while I waited. Everything was fantastic, especially the homemade potato cakes. Réservez une table maintenant

What a top bloke Alex is! He rewards his return customers, got this lot for free while we waited!!There is just nothing like this place left anymore. Come and enjoy it while it's still here.

Good on these guys for still running the shop and producing quality old fashioned fish and chips! Definitely worth a visit if in the area. Wash cash only when we went this week!

Alex's restaurant is the best in the west. No matter where we have lived, we always make the drive for their delicious grilled dishes and schnitzel sandwiches. Réservez une table maintenant

Best fish and chips ever!!! Fresh cut chips, home made potato cakes, home made burgers, fresh fish... cant beat it. I recommend the John Dory crumbed.

This is the best fish and chip shop. Alex, his wife, and son are a lovely family who provide delicious food. Yum!
