Alpengasthof Angerer Alm

Note: The following paragraph is also included in my review of the hotel: During our two night stay we opted for three- and five- course meals in the Alm’s restaurant. Our appetites were rewarded with delicious and fresh pan-European cuisine with each course personally paired to Austrian wine by Annemarie, who is an acclaimed wine expert. Before dinner the first night, Annemarie took us on a tour of the wine cellar (where we could have stayed for quite some time! . Have your ever seen a bottle of 1795 Madiera? Yes, her cellar has substantial breadth going well beyond regional selections. The hiking is great but we'd book another stay just for the food and wine!

Today was an overcast and windy winters day on the Sankt Johann ski fields, a perfect day for a warm and cosy lunch break in this traditional and well recommended mountain restaurant. Ski to the door and ski when you leave, what could go wrong? We have been here several times over the years and always the food is good, excellent even, noted for the wine cellar, that’s a big plus, the service is quick and efficient......but, you’ll be hard pushed to get a hello or goodbye from the staff, and definitely no table side banter, strictly business here thanks. This is a shame as everything else stacks up, but the whole dining experience is left cold, in a vacuum.

Great restaurant on the slopes. Lovely decor and warm and friendly ambiance, great menu, lovely helpful staff. We visited a couple of times in our week skiing and we thoroughly enjoyed our food A MUST GO to restaurant whilst in Sankt Johann in Tirol Thank you Angerer Alm

Great regional food, and a definite favourite stop on the slopes. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something to eat whilst skiing in the area!

Great food and service for the whole family and every one. Menu was explained to us in english and the recommendation on the food was splendid!
