First job was working here many years ago and the delicious taste of Alpine often saunters into my mind around lunchtime. I 've worked at many sandwich places coincidentally, Subway, Jimmy John 's but there 's a homely, Chicago feel to Alpine in Elmwood Park. The food is delicious, I love the corned beef, roast beef and mushroom sandwiches. That 's what I wish more sandwich places had, delicious mushrooms. I 've seen the care that goes into the subtleties of ingredients. I fell in love with giardenaria here, I love a spicy sandwhich. In comparison Subway just flops the ingredients soullessly in a bowl, Jimmy John 's can be either meticulous or soggy, usually with little wiggle room in betwee...

The sandwiches at Alpine Food Shop are excellent and the service, friendly prompt and professional. I 've been enjoying them for over 25 years. During the 90 's we would send someone in our fastest car to drive from the Loop to Elmwood Park to fetch sandwiches on Fridays. It started with an order of six, by the end of that first summer, over 50 more people were hooked and ordering these great Italian sammies . Try 'em. It 's worth the drive.

I was turned to this tasty place when a good friend brought me an Alpine deli Sub Sandwich for lunch on a day, I think it's safe to say that we all had our fair share of different sub sandwiches, from different places, BUT! without a doubt this was one of the freshest, tasty, balanced deli sub sandwiches that I have ever eaten personally. I've been visiting this restaurant for ten years, and it always meets my expectations. The sub sandwiches are excellent, and the staff is extremely friendly. I highly recommend trying the signature Alpine sub. The prices are quite reasonable given the quality of the food. This is definitely a spot in the area that you should check out! I visited this restaurant near closing time on a weekend because I had a craving for an Italian sub. The staff were outstanding, and the sub exceeded my expectations! The biscotti I grabbed on a whim were also really tasty. I will definitely be coming back!

Me and the family always get the alpine sandwich extra oil,we let it sit for about 10 minutes, and it's the best, considering a subway sandwiches cost about the same if not more, the pasta salad is pretty good too

This is definitely one of the best sandwiches you'll ever have. I used to live right around the corner from this place, and even though I've moved to Milwaukee, I always make sure to visit whenever I'm in Chicago.
