Honestly , There's nothing typical portuguese about these dishes, taste wise lacking in seasoning! Extremely disappointed to see mussels instead of clams in bifes de porco a alentejana! For desserts ... once again couldn't spot anything typical portuguese, there's only custard tarts and they looked awful. Clearly in anyones eye, mainly elderly people with plenty of money would go there thinking it's ever so posh and tasty because they don't really know what portuguese food should taste like. It looks more like there's no chef in the kitchen and the poor guy heats up the food in front of you just for show off and extra tips in the end of your bill and in the end you leave the restaurant smel...
This restaurant was a huge disappointment. They seem to find every possible way to overcharge customers. You even have to pay for the bread on the table when you arrive. Vegetables are not included in the price of your meal. When ordering a mixed drink, they use outdated bottled juice that tastes terrible and charge extra for each component, resulting in expensive and unpleasant drinks. The total bill for two people, including alcoholic drinks, water, a starter, and a main dish, came to over £130, which was shocking. Well i cant praise this restaurant enough, we last visited 9 years ago, why did we leave it so long ! We were made to feeel welcome from the minute we walked through the door, all of our party of seven were full of praise for the food. Well done chef and kitchen team. Front of house team were excellent, giving great advice on food and providing a level of service that a lot of others could learn from. If you have never visited you are missing out. Thank you all for a great evening
I was brought here with the promise of a great meal from a restaurant that has a long legacy around these parts. There was nothing Portuguese about this place. I could have literally taken canned sauce and poured it over various meats and made a better meal. Even the folks who brought me here knew this place was different now. Save your money and use it for the many other restaurants around here.

I went for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was lacking. The food was decent, but the additional charges for items like bread we didn't order and £20 for vegetables made it very overpriced. My friend ordered a coke, but it was flat. They reluctantly replaced it. I used to dine here frequently when it was under old management, but I won't be returning now.
This restaurant is a wonderful place to dine. The food is fantastic, and the servers are welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is really comfortable, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a carefully prepared meal. You never feel rushed, so you can truly savor your dining experience.
A Thursday evening dinner with two very good friends. Sam, mine host and his colleague always extend such a warm welcome and tonight was no different. Service excellent, food delicious, company wonderful. What more is there to say. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Alvaros yet again you didn’t disappoint ,we visited on Friday evening for my wife’s Birthday. I’m sure over the years the food service gets better. Have been going to this restaurant since the seventies and can honestly say you would be hard pressed to find better.

This restaurant hasn’t changed, still excellent food for a special occasion. We were there for our anniversary and although pricey the presentation and quality of the food was superb. Definitely worth a revisit when the next special occasion arrives.
