As a Cambodian, I am thrilled to have a restaurant in Australia's food capital that serves delicious modern Khmer cuisine. I am also proud of how well amok restaurant does this. Every dish is perfect, with flavors that are so spot-on that you don't need any additional condiments. I always recommend trying the chef's sharing menu, which allows you to sample all eight courses in one meal. The service is excellent, with friendly and down-to-earth staff. The chef even comes out to chat with guests and check on their experience. Despite leaving the restaurant full, I still make the 45-minute drive back because it is truly worth it.
Been here twice. First for Friends b'day and 2nd for Xmas work dinner. I knew this place would not disappoint the 2nd time around so I persuaded work to approve to have dinner here. They couldn't stop raving on about how delicious the food was and how it was the best choice for the night. We had the 8 course banquet. So many great dishes! You definitely don't go home hungry lol Service was on point too. They are all so nice and attentive. Will be making sure I bring everyone I know to try at least once. Can't wait to go back. :
This restaurant in Melbourne has the best food I have ever tasted in my life. I have tried many modern cuisines before, but none compare to the dishes at this place. Each dish was presented in a true MasterChef style, and I loved every single one. My husband and I were both blown away by the experience. It was a lovely surprise for our wedding anniversary, and a truly memorable dining experience. Thank you to my husband for such a special gift.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. The exceptional flavors of the dishes make the food truly outstanding. Every person at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The duck curry, fish popcorn, and wagyu beef salad were particularly impressive. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, affordable prices, and friendly staff, all of which contribute to an excellent dining experience. I will definitely be returning in the future. A must try for the Melbourne foodies. I've tasted 9 or 10 dishes and have had my mind blown by each and every one of them. All very high quality dishes with full flavour but well balanced dishes. Great wine list too! We live in Brunswick near Coburg but more than happy to travel to the complete other side of the city for Amok Restaurant. I'd recommend going as a small group and sharing dishes
