I don’t want to knock any of the servers or employees, all of which are extremely hardworking, but the food was really gross. I’ve worked in restaurants and I can spot from a mile away when the food is being reused, and not cooked fresh. Ordered arroz con pollo, because it was familiar and something I enjoy making at home. The chicken was old and the rice was clearly cooked several days prior, the entire plate was drenched in butter I think in an effort to cover up the taste of the food. I took two bites and became nauseous.The drinks were bitter and hardly mixed cocktail. There are not many Mexican restaurants in Oceanside that can compare to Anita's. As a non-native, I found several dishes on the menu that I love such as chili verde, tacos, burritos, and shrimp dishes. The flavors may not be the most innovative, but the sauces, meat, and presentation are top-notch. Tonight, I tried the cheese enchiladas and they were perfect - the cheese was gooey and delicious, and the seasoning was just right. The beef taco was also delicious, but the standout dish was definitely the enchiladas. I can't wait to try the chili verde next. The service was good and I can't wait to come back and try more dishes.
Anita's Mexican restaurant is a blast! Their Margaritas are top-notch, and their all-day happy hour is a fantastic deal. The service was excellent, even though they were quite busy when we visited on a Tuesday. We didn't mind the wait as we were able to enjoy our Margaritas at a nice table outside. Highly recommend checking it out! As for kid-friendliness, we brought our 9-month-old granddaughter who was content sleeping, but typically wouldn't be. The restaurant is loud and lively, but that's because it's both dog-friendly and kid-friendly.
We tried this place last night since we figured they have been in business for almost 50 years. Horrible service ever. The food was almost as bad and expensive for Mexican food. the so called, juicy steak was over cooked. the carnitas was so dry, even 2 limes couldn't help. lots of lettuce on the plate making the portion of the actual meal, small. Absolutely a waste of time and money.

The restaurant is beautifully clean and sleek, with a spacious dining area and a large bar. Customers should make a reservation or put their name down promptly as the restaurant fills up quickly. The food was good, but not as flavorful as I would prefer. The house margaritas are a solid choice if they happen to be out of a classic cocktail.
Whenever I'm in Oceanside I always stop by Anita's. I love their shrimp enchiladas they are the best I would definitely recommend people to try them. The staff is always attentive to your needs. The drinks here are also great I usually get their mango margarita.The atmosphere here is family friendly and relaxed.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of my meal, but I do have a photo of my leftovers. The portions were generous and satisfying, perfect for someone with a big appetite like myself.
Wonderful experience. Food was delicious with several unique options. Happy Hour is great. Drinks were plentiful and good. Staff was efficient while also being friendly. Vibrant atmosphere.

amazing eating, had a small gathering in the back terrace. it was lonely enough and we had it ourselves. great food. great service. our waiter was amazing.
Always good food , friendly people. Wish it had a fireplace like it did in the old place.
