Anno 1898 Deutsches Haus

I spent a night here after a 6-day hike through the Allgau, hoping for a good meal and a good night rest before my flight the next day. I got the good meal, but the good night was through the smoke through my...window, that was above the entrance of the restaurant where people smoke; and through the loud music emcee guests from below. It was a trade between being in a hot room vs inhaling in smoke and blown through the noise. On a positive note the staff was friendly; the room was clean, simple and had enough space; and in just a few minutes walk to the station. I would return for food, but to convince for the room in view of the noise and the smoke.

Had dinner here with a group recently, and had an enjoyable evening. The service was excellent and very attentive. The food was so so, nothing special, and quite expensive. I had the rump steak madagascar, which came with a baked potato which was alright, but I think microwaved as the skin wasn't oven baked and the sour cream too sweet. The steak was fine, but not delicious, but cooked how I had ordered it - rare. The flavoured butter it came with was either straight out of the freezer or fridge and rock hard so did not melt on the steak.

A very rustic hotel The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is small, all very clean, you can see daily that cleaning is a great job! Total staff very accommodating and helpful. A small but fine and fresh breakfast buffet! Unfortunately, I don't enjoy the evening kitchen! Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5.

We looked at Trip Advisor and many other area restaurants got higher marks but it was raining and we decided to chance it. Wow! The soups were great (although the goulash was a tad salty) and the deserts were to die for. We had the strudel and the kaiserschwarmum. Wonderful! Réservez une table maintenant

Price-performance ratio is not true at all. The hotel is in need of renovation. Rooms were clean, though. Beds are a disaster. Breakfast mau. Friendly, but partly also snippy to pampy staff in the restaurant, especially there completely covered prices.

Great food and friendly service. The menu is simple but very tasty with week specials and salads. Variety of beers and ales.
