Windsorite expats will always talk about missing Windsor pizza- the ONLY place in North America that makes good pizza. We all have our favourite places- Franco's, Capri, Trevi, etc. We even go so far as to have it shipped to us in order to survive the pizza wilderness out there. Last time we were there visiting friends we had an impromptu get together so stopped at Antonino's to pick up the pizza to take over to friends. We are seasoned pizza connoisseurs and THIS was the absolute BEST pizza we have ever had! They have many different kinds (Greek, Hawaii, Margherita, etc.) but we just went for the traditional everything but anchovies. Fabulous. Now what we do is phone ahead and order a half baked pizza, pick it up, and finish baking at home when we are ready for dinner. This is just a pickup counter but they have a dine in Antonino's in nearby LaSalle now where you can get fast individual slices. Nice if you want to try one of the different flavours without committing to an entire pie. Don't think I'll ever go back to my old favourites now.
We ordered pizza and were told to pick up in 45 mins, we showed up and the cook yelled at the cashier "what time does it say on the receipt?" It was noted for 15 mins later so she said that, and he replied "then that's when it will be ready"! No big deal, my friend and I went outside and sat for 15 mins and came back in, it still wasn't ready and the cook yelled at the cashier again and then was rude to us when we asked for a return time as we were going to sit back outside as it was busy in there. The cashier said "I'll just come get you." 10 mins later she did but we won't be returning to an environment like that.
Antoninos has been pleasing customers since 1959, (n case you didnt know that is why they have that ending phone number) they make other equally awesome dishes and even deliver . But the real delivery is in the taste ,it shows when you love what you do and cant be held back . Great people great food great service a true pleaser always . I stop here for lunch quite often for a slice. They make a fantastic, thin crust pizza. Sauce is flavorful and slightly spicy, pepperoni is shredded on top so you get some in every bite.Just all around phenomenal pizza. If you have not tried Windsor pizza, this is one of the ones to try.
