Applebee's Grill

Unfortunately we had such a terrible experience here it had been about 5 years since the last time we had been here because we usually go to the PALMHURST location and with the great service we received at the location we figured this one in MCALLEN would be no different but boy were we wrong. To start off when we entered the host looked at me up and down i smiled at her and she simply turned around and ignored the fact that we were even there and a young man was the one that acknowledged us and not her. You could tell she was not happy. Keep in mind i'm with my family (my husband and 2 children) once they sat us down it was until 10 minutes after that someone came to get our drinks our waiter was no different from the host. He didn't greet us with a kind smile nor said hello all he said was what can i get you , then i told him we were ready to order he said okay after each meal he would say is that it? is that it? It was so rude and he was very bland. Then he said pass me your menus in the most rude way possible. After that Then my 1 year old started to be a bit fuzzy and i see the host at that instant blast the music keep in mind it was very ghetto music talking about drugs and using foul language talking about guns etc; the host blasting the music made it worse After 20 minutes we received our cold food. Such a shame of the service we received. The moment we received our food we asked for the check because at that point we wanted to leave. Definitely the Last time we will ever come to this location.

My wife an I stopped by yesterday to celebrate our 8 year anniversary. Our very first date was to an Applebees, so we decided to remake the magic in a manner of speaking. We were initially disappointed at how much the menu had changed (for the worst) but still we stayed and ordered. Honestly we should have left. The server that we got, while really trying his best, got my order wrong twice, and managed to bring me the wrong drink. My wife and I both ordered the 8oz steak but comparing the steak that I got to my wife's and you would swear it was little over 5oz. I also ordered my steak Medium Well, but this thing was charred, and an unchewable mess. In the end we spent about 60 dollars for food that I could have microwaved at home for the same effect and taste. We didnt even stay for drinks or dessert even though I was very clearly ready to do both and spend even more money. In my opinion stay away from this location or perhaps from Applebees all together. I know its one of the only places open til 2AM So if you need to stop by, just get some appetizers and drinks, and stay away from the rest of the menu.

We had a birthday dinner for our 87 year old friend. Our first waiter was great very attentive, but his shift ended. Our second waiter seamed to care less. We had to call other people over to find him three times for service. Food portion was very small. I coul of gone to a hamburger joint and gotten a better meal. NEVER again will visit this place.

Waiter was non attentive to our table. We had a waiter who covered everything to include a birthday. He left do to change of shift. Then the problems began. New waiter service was terrible. Also they played rap music and other non dining music to LOUD. Will never go to that location in McAllen TX again. Ruin a birthday.

Good bar selection. Bartender is attentive and the menu has a good choice to choose from. Maybe time for a renovation. But it's all good
