To escape from busy Lausanne take the small regional train up to the final stop: Bercher. From here you can start many walks through the beautiful campagne vaudoise countryside of Vaud. I stopped for lunch at Bourlatsapi, which proved a very good choice. As a café restaurant Bourlatsapi welcomes everybody whether for just a quick coffee, a simple snack or a full gourmet meal. The dining room is comfortable but small, therefore advance booking recommended. On my visit most of the guests seemed to be regulars, which is always a good omen.
