It’s a trendy American restaurant located in Cortland Alley, Lower Manhattan, that remains relatively undiscovered by tourists. We couldn't resist ordering the Double Cheeseburger ($21) as soon as we spotted it, and it turned out to be the best burger we've had this year. I was fortunate enough to snag a seat at the bar and decided to try their signature burger topped with a fried egg. Although the service was slightly slow, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The burger was quite delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed my overall experience. The fries came with a fantastic sauce that complemented them perfectly. While visiting the restroom, I stumbled upon a sort of speakeasy, which means I’ll definitely have to come back at some point.

I had an excellent dining experience at Au Cheval. The atmosphere is inviting, and the menu, though straightforward, is both refined and satisfying—it left me completely full. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive and proactive, anticipating our needs without us having to ask. A standout item on the menu is definitely the bacon, which is exceptional. While it is on the pricier side, you definitely get your money's worth, making it a place worth visiting.

From their music choice, ambiance, and service all around had a great experience here. My two friends introduced this spot and hyped up the burgers. I can confirm the burgers went above and beyond my expectations, one of my favorite burger spots. We made a visit here on a Wednesday evening and was quite busy so make sure to call ahead of time to gauge potential wait time! Definitely recommend their cheeseburger, fries and chocolate cream pie! Really dope restaurant with a great ambiance. Definitely a top tier spot to grab a burger. Make sure you put your reservation in or you might not get seated. The service was great. The burger was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The egg and thick cut bacon really topped it off. The combination of all those flavors was mouth watering. First time here and I was very impressed! From the atmosphere of the city outside to the dim lighting and elegant setting inside to the service and of course delicious food and drinks, this place is a must for all New Yorkers. Our favorites of the night were the fried chicken, the whipped mashed potatoes and steak frites! They?re also well known and loved for their burger which I need to have on my next visit. This place was buzzing and now I know why!

Au Cheval is really good. We went for a birthday brunch and everyone in the group enjoyed their food and drink. The highlights were the chilaquiles, omelet, hash browns and green salad. The paper thin pickles piled atop the **** Mary were a great addition to the traditional garnish of olives and hot pepper. The service was warm and friendly; the space the same. I look forward to returning and exploring more of the menu.

I really enjoyed the ambiance and the food. The chopped wedge salad was fantastic, and the burger was delicious. However, I think it would be better if the bacon was crispy instead of the thick steakhouse style for a nicer texture. I enjoyed their good burgers. Dry aged and classic double cheese burger were really great. Juicy patty, delicious pickles. I will come back again. Good ambiance and nice staffs.
