Only open at lunchtimes this local restaurant is off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Each time we have visited the welcome has been warm and inviting even when full to capacity. Service is efficient and attentive. During the week a large carafe of red wine is already set on the table and the soup arrives soon after you sit down. The newly decorated interior is finished to a high standard. The interior decor is immaculate but plain and simple, its a shame there are only two windows in the large salon. A big plus for a local restaurant is the provision of 'his ' and 'hers ' toilets which are very clean. The food is very tasty and well-presented, there is a good choice on the 'carte de jour '. On certain days there are local specialities such as 'pieds de porc a la sauce gribiche ' (pig 's trotters in mayonnaise mustard sauce) and 'tete de veau '. (Boiled cow 's head) Other local specialities are available such as confit de canard, faux fillet etc. There is a good selection of local wines at reasonable prices and draught beer. All in all a great lunchtime experience.

Was originally invited to join a luncheon club which met there once a month. Not sure what to expect as out in the sticks somewhat. However, all was revealed in a large open plan dining room, which seats up to about 100+ people. Plain tables and decor but clean and tidy with obviously a local clientele. We were a party of 12 but by the time we sat down, there were not many places left. Red and rosé wine in carafes were on the table and were refilled as one wished. Food is always good, starting with local soup normally garbure followed by jambon du pays or other, then on to steak frites, confit duck or whatever is available that day. A good carte du jour has a wider selection, but the menu du jour is what one should follow as there is always something for everyone and at a superb price of €12 to include the wine. but coffee is a little extra. Well worth the detour to find Au Rey

This restaurant is tucked away up a tiny side road, and the attractive entrance belies the vast number of tables inside (and a few outside). Nevertheless, by 12.30 pm it will be packed full of locals. The 4 course menu is served without question and includes a pichet of wine. I think it was about €12/head. Incredible value and a wonderful place to go to wind down. Just two women were serving the 100+ covers, but it was scarcely very slow. Don't dress up for it you will be out of place! Slightly obscure opening times I think lunchtime mainly, with groups of min 25 on demand in the evenings.

We had a lovely meal here and it is about local produce. You need to try the duck. We had a duck salad with bacon, and fois gras, confit duck leg with dauphinoise potatoes and a prune and apple filled tart. It was simple, rustic, well-prepared, absolutely superb.
