Visited this morning for the first time and was really impressed with the service from staff who made us feel extra special and welcome- something quite rare in today's cafe scene. They were quick to accommodate by bringing out a high chair for my friend's baby. We were promptly served with menus and asked if we wanted to order coffee. I was quite impressed with my soy flat white. The breakfast menu was pretty decent and I decided to order the multigrain toast with a 'side' of mashed avocado (which comes with feta mixed through it). I have been to aura once in the past - over 2 years ago now. Finally got the chance to go back and wow, I was definitely not disappointed. I opted for the 'build your own' kind of breakfast with poached eggs on sourdough plus extras. Although if I hadn't gotten the fritters it would have disappointing that it only came with one slice of toast, with all I got this was more than enough food! The corn fritters were easily the highlight of the dish. Eggs were poached perfectly, but toast was a bit burnt though still great quality sourdough, and cut thickly. Aura Cafe, located in Templestowe under a Hub of medical suites.It's trying to define itself between a cafe and a restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted and shown to the "back office" . The staff seemed regimented and that toned down the ambience for relaxation. Our orders taken promptly and coffees arrived in due course, 15 minutes later the strong long black (tasted weak) and the hot soy latte (luke warm) arrived. Seemed like the lady barista had an off day as both coffees were very ordinary. We both ordered the corn fritters with the smashed avocado, sounded great! I work nearby and attend each week for lunch. I usually have the eggs, which while changeable are usually good. Very plentiful, run out of toast before I run out of eggs, which is slightly annoying. Always come with large serve of rocket or greens. Service here is faultless, the staff are always exceptionally attentive and friendly. I will continue to eat here regularly. They have good daily specials too, nice and hearty for winter. Prices are good.

The decor inside is a bit dated and worn. The outdoor area was quite good and provides outdoor option on a sunny day. More pleasant outside than it was inside. Staff very accomodating and friendly. I had corn fritters but the bacon was wrapped so not crispy/well cooked all the way through. Fritters were nice but the poached egg seemed unnecessary. I would visit again
We heard about this cafe through friends, they mentioned that it was a lovely place for breakfast. We went there today and they were right. The menu was great, good price and lovey food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, highly recommend a visit here, we will be going back to try the lunch menu.
Happily recommend this place for its coffee and food. Enjoyed a great coffee served by friendly, accommodating staff. Delicious food, served efficiently and nicely presented. A pleasant surprise and pleasing atmosphere . Really very good .
Would definetly recommend this place to anyone in the area or coming through. Lovely setting and vibe with great food and amazing staff, the girl who waited our table was so sweet and attentive. Will definetly come back!

Chef was a little late but when he got there the meal was good. Simple and fast service... suitable for a breakfast catch-up
