The restaurant has parking in the back, charming decor and lighting, and a nice bar. Located next to the Bryn Mawr movie theater, we arrived at 5pm on a Sunday and were quickly greeted and seated by the hostess. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the Avalon burger, short rib pasta entree, burrata and beets entree, and meatballs for appetizers. The meatballs were served hot with melted mozzarella and tomato sauce, but lacked flavor. Sara was one of the most friendly and attentive waitresses we have ever experienced. She provided excellent service without being pushy. We visited during Happy Hour and tried all of the appetizers available, which were absolutely delicious. The wine that was recommended to us was also fantastic. Although the restaurant was a bit noisy, it was not as bad as other places we have been to. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
I recently moved into an apartment across the street. After a long day of work, I felt like a meal and a drink. So I visited Avalon. Right away, I could tell the staff was friendly and attentive, from the hostess to the bartender. I sat at the bar and had an excellent martini. For my meal, I had Judy's Foodie Pasta and beef dish. It was as good as it gets. Everyone was so friendly. I am looking forward to going back.
A definite win, win, win! My 2 friends and I randomly selected to dine this evening at Avalon. One of my friends was craving a mojito. Upon arrival, we were advised that they were out of mint, key ingredient. Low and behold, Joe saved the day by ordering the mint in time for my friend to enjoy her cocktail?. The food and service delivered by Joe was fantastic! Thank you Joe and Avalon. We will be back.

Had a chef's tasting menu which is a special reservation but they were able to take us at prime time on a Friday night. Clearly, the owners put a lot of thought into every detail of this restaurant. The atmosphere feels more formal than cozy, and the prices reflect that. Although on the expensive side, the food was delicious. I suggest checking the menu prices before making a reservation for dinner.
Why do you think it?s ok to charge $13.00 for 1 1/2 eggs? We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer. We received 3 halves? It?s just wrong! It?s one thing to understand the times we are in, and pay more. It?s another thing to totally take advantage of people!
Everything was pretty good friendly staff, good food and good drinks. Maybe it's me though, but I just love west chesters location a bit more. Check out both for yourself!
