Babylon cafe. after being caught in the rain and still moist, nothing was to do just before a hot cup tee and decent dine. beautifully decorated thanks to the teppich and decor store next door, the allee away chocker with...wee tables and chairs. I choose a vege stack with green chili jam in the side a pot tee and a piece pharao disc. $20 lunches sorted and a chance to dry a little while hearing a sensational collection of the record player. there is a window for a coffee with the takeaway and many old writing and anointed tables for sitting. I've been coming back to Babylon regularly for the last year or so, mainly for the coffee and veggie stack but I also love the eclectic music and great service. Tucked away behind the Rug Studio and accessed via Newcastle or Carr streets in Leederville,...it's away from traffic noise and my dog is always welcome too (and he even gets the occasional titbit from Frank! . Shady umbrellas scattered around the mismatched tables and chairs mean that you can shelter from the sun or catch some rays, depending on the time year. I found Babylon a couple of years ago and considered it brave of them to set up shop in a small shed at the rear of a rug shop. They proceeded then to do several things very well; one being the coffee. Tick, expert. They...set up some eclectic decor in the shed and in the outdoor setting area. Tick, excellent, elegant, eclectic, egalitarian. They make small bites perfectly. Tick, yum. The warm, friendly staff members I 'm guessing are owners, and Simon and Ross make you feel special. Its now a regular place and keep a very brisk takeout stream of coffee to the grateful locals who are particular with their brew. Babylon sisters shake it So fine so young.....while not a recent discovery, Babylon Cafe is at the rear of a splendiferous rug-and-stuff shop. Its run by a couple of local heroes who have passion, energy, knowledge and lots of love. The food is tapas-style...and very yummy. The coffee is superb, and the lines for the takeaway in the morning is long and strong. Sure, its tucked away, sure it is among many worthy competitors, but it stands up. Its our new regular fave.

I must love this place. I went first with my colleague robbie gasper, the football guru who told me they make the best coffee in the city. and that they do!/ but we also loved the spicy toasties that were delicious. / this is a quirky, strange, crazy caffe. but you will just love it for a relaxed conversation with friends or read the time. directly on the road from the famous sayers cafe.
the best place for Sunday brunch, we had the curroid lens soup with delicious brot, fantastic. casual and laid back, with delicious food. this is a snack, coffey shop, interior and exterior seat for the 4 legged freends, simply great, warm and friendly. the caffe is...on the newcastle street over a side gate on a funky boutique, but especially on carr place. great gothic place.
great coffee best in leederville to a long mac up. also their desserts on the bank near the theke are delicious. I have just tried all and though decadent, they are quite small, so they definitely enjoy it.
Hidden behind a funky vintage-type store, I nearly missed this little gem. The guys are super cool as is the environment. A chilled courtyard to escape the world with excellent coffee.

I love this coffee shop it is a small oasis in the heart of lively leederville, a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that is super dog friendly and the best coffee all around.
