Drive from Mayrhofen direction Zillergrund. Leave the car at the bottom of the street leading towards the storage lake "Zillergrund". Easy walk along a beautiful little mountain stream. After about 1 h you reach the Restaurant Bärenalm. Authentic place, friendly, quick service and don't forget to try the rather nourishing "Zillertaler Krapfen" if you feel like go ahead to the storage lake, it will take another 1 1/2h recommended when weather is fine.
Drive from Mayrhofen towards Zillergrund. Leave the car at the bottom of the road leading to the reservoir Zillergrund. Easy walk along a beautiful small mountain stream. After about 1 hour you can reach the Bärenalm restaurant. Authentic place, friendly, fast service and do not forget to try the quite nourishing Zillertaler Krapfen when you feel like before the reservoir, it is recommended another 1 1/2h if the weather is okay.
