Currently my fave restaurant in Canberra! Laos and Thai food are similar, and even though Bai Tong offers both, but be bold and order the Laos version of things. You will not be disappointed! The Laos version of papaya salad is amazing. Best papaya salad I've ever tried. Hormok is another one of my fave dish. Service is always decent, place is big and clean.
Steer clear of this one - underdeveloped sauce, very (very) over cooked meat and stiff rice. No subtlety or finesse expressed in any of the dishes sampled. A phone confusion ended in receiving double the rice and none of the roti. Friendly staff but unfortunately a major miss. Suspect the meat is defrosted, very overpowering and disconcerting.
I went there for lunch last week and omg!!! Them food was so amazing. Their SomTum Laos just blows my mind away. The Laos sausage was so good as well as crispy soft shell crab in curry sauce. The service was great. Would love to come back!!
Chicken was overcooked in both the red curry and noodle dish and correct flavours were lacking and tasted strongly of basil. Considering their high rating I expected a lot more and feel like I've wasted my dollars. Réservez une table maintenant
Was a little hard to find however totally worth it. I had Chicken Yellow Curry and Coconut rice and oh my it was so good. Made me feel like I was back in Thailand. Customer service was also fantastic!
star Cannot express the freshness and deliciousness of Baitong. Most amazing Thai food especially my favourite dish Pad Thai Chicken. Definitely will visit again :)
Great place to eat many specials with excellent food. The place is spotless, the staff is friendly and the service is superb Taco Tuesday is a favorite.
Went for lunch the other day to show Lao food to my friends and it was amazing. Food was very tasty and authentic. I would recommend that to everyone Réservez une table maintenant
