Balaton, how I miss you! My mother and I frequently enjoyed lunch or dinner at your restaurant, and the food was consistently amazing. As a German, my mother particularly loved the cabbage rolls and schnitzel, as they reminded her of home. The Hungarian dishes were always absolutely divine. The warm and friendly service made us feel like part of the family. Unfortunately, I now live 45 minutes away from Cleveland, and takeout isn't really practical for me. I'm so excited to hear that you've signed a new lease, and I can't wait for the opportunity to share a meal with my mom there again soon. <3

I highly recommend starting your meal with the Hungarian platter and the langos to sample some of the new Hungarian dishes. Just keep in mind that reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance, as all dishes are made to order.

All the main courses were excellent. However, the dessert torte we ordered was hard and stale. The service varied depending on which staff member attended to our table. Despite the inconsistency in service and the dessert, the quality of the main dishes made it worth the visit.

I have to say, my husband and I will be making regular visits to Balaton after our experience there last night. A coworker of my husband’s from Hungary recommended it a while back, and we’re so pleased that we finally gave it a try.
We arrived early and quickly realized that we needed a reservation. After making a phone call, the staff graciously fit us in, but they let us know that because of a high number of takeout orders...

Wow, this restaurant is fantastic! I was really excited to try Balaton after hearing one of my classmates rave about it, and they were absolutely right to do so.
Had an amazing dinner. Visited with my Hungarian friend who suggested it. It was an incredible experience. Will certainly return.
